This article only talks about the prizes that are currently known. There are many more that just haven’t been revealed in the story yet.
Throughout the entirety of the One Piece franchise, there is perhaps no event as important to the overall lore of the series than the legendary God Valley Incident. This world-changing conflict took place 38 years before the current age of One Piece, where the most important and strongest figures in the entire world clashed on the titular island in one of the most destructive battles in history.
At its most basic, the event can be pinned to the Native Hunting Competition that the Celestial Dragons held on God Valley, where they would compete for many illustrious prizes. In this article, let’s go over all of the coveted prizes of this tournament to see why they felt them to be worth going to the island and risking their lives to acquire them at all.

- Shakky was the grand prize.
Although the Elbaf flashback largely focuses on the greatest warriors from the old era and the God Valley Incident itself, it can be argued that the most important character of them all is none other than Shakuyaku. It was directly due to her kidnapping from Hachinosu that all of the greatest forces of the world mobilized onto the titular island in the first place, which means that if that hadn’t happened, there wouldn’t have been a God Valley Incident at all.
The inhabitants of God Valley came to covet her like a treasure… an irreplaceable crown jewel!
In this era, Shakky was the object of the world’s desire, from both the Celestial Dragons and the greatest pirates of the age. Due to this, she was kidnapped to be given as the grand prize to the winner of the Native Hunting Competition, which is why the Roger Pirates and the majority of the Rocks Pirates ended up there in the first place.

- One of the greatest Devil Fruits in the story.
It’s known that there were many Devil Fruits up for grabs as prizes in the God Valley Incident. Although only 2 of them are known, one of these is the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which is remembered as one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in the entire story. Due to it being a Mythical Zoan fruit, it allows the user to turn into a massive and exceptionally powerful dragon whose scales are impervious to all kinds of damage, including most forms of Haki.
People say “in a one-on-one fight, always bet on Kaido!”
Because of this, and the sheer destructive potential that it grants the user with abilities like fire breath and flight, the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu is one of the most desirable Devil Fruits in the story. During the God Valley Incident, the chest that carried this fruit was stolen by Ivankov in the commotion but was eventually taken by Big Mom, who later gifted it to Kaido.
The Nikyu Nikyu no Mi Has Incredibly Wide-Spanning Applications
User: Batholomew Kuma

In its most simplified definition, the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi has the power to repel things. While this does seem to be quite a convenient power at first glance, its true strength can only be seen when considering all that the user can even repel. Of course, the user can repel all attacks and damage that comes towards them, but this fruit is incredibly versatile because it allows Kuma to even repel things that are conceptual. For example, Kuma can take out the pain and memories of the people he targets. Moreover, he can also repel things and people to places he has been to before.
If you could take a vacation, where would you go?
When taking that into consideration, one can truly see why this Devil Fruit was coveted enough to be kept as one of the treasures of the Native Hunting Competition. Just like the Uo Uo no Mi, the chest that had this Devil Fruit was stolen by Ivankov and Kuma, but before Big Mom could take it from them, Kuma ate it and gained these amazing powers to save everyone there.
What Were The Other Mysterious Prizes Of The God Valley Incident?
Incredible Objects Of Immense Power
The first time that the God Valley Incident was ever shown, be it through vague flashbacks or even just mentions of it, there were initially a total of 6 chests kept on the altar, leading fans to believe that there were 6 of these Devil Fruits in total. However, the recent chapters of the Elbaf flashback reveal that there were actually 9, so there are many more important Devil Fruits that could have been here.
The fandom has been theorizing what these could be for quite some time now, stating that there could be a few familiar fruits as well as those we have never even seen before. A common belief is that the Yami Yami no Mi, Gomu Gomu no Mi, and Loki’s mysterious fruit were also kept as prizes, and a newer theory states that Monkey D. Dragon’s mysterious wind-controlling fruit may have been here too.
