The Sims 4 devs hosted an official livestream where they showcased dozens of features coming to the game with the Adventure Awaits expansion pack. The Sims 4‘s upcoming expansion has been extensively teased ever since it was revealed at the start of September. Shortly after the roadmap, EA officially announced the next expansion pack for The Sims 4, Adventure Awaits. Fans got a first look at the pack with an extensive blog post and a reveal trailer.
After this, players were treated to a gameplay trailer that dove deeper into the various features being introduced to The Sims 4 with Adventure Awaits. This longer trailer was followed by the start of the Forever Friends event, which was created to promote the upcoming pack, provide some insight into the lore that is coming along with it, and, of course, gift those who participate in the event with some freebies for their interest.
The Sims 4 Livestream Reveals More Details About Adventure Awaits EP
Even though these teasers and trailers gave players plenty of information on the pack, players longed for more details, as custom venues and imaginary friends were highly requested features for The Sims 4. On September 25, a Sims 4 livestream took place, giving gamers a deep dive into the pack. The livestream included interesting details about upcoming features, skills, traits, characters, and items. Fans were able to take a look at the various milestones in the Critter Hunter aspiration, review how custom venues work as well as role assignment for getaways, and experience the creation of a playground, which will be possible thanks to modular pieces, like slides and platforms.
One of the focal points of the presentation was imaginary friends – a new occult in The Sims 4, but known to those who played The Sims 3. Children will be able to turn their plushies into imaginary friends. There are various imaginary friends in Adventure Awaits, and they each have their own traits and require certain skill levels in order to turn real.
The Papercraft Skill also caught the interest of many fans. Sims can learn this skill and make all sorts of paper mache or origami creations. These can be used to decorate players’ homes as wall decor or gifted to friends. Players will have plenty of time to build their creative skills on their highly customizable venues and getaways, whether that’s by making paper crafts, blending all sorts of smoothies, or entering a creative competition. The livestream lasted about an hour and a half and showed plenty of what is to come, but the developers made sure to switch between features pretty often to leave players something for them to discover on their own once Adventure Awaits releases on October 2.
