The Sims 4 has released a new gameplay trailer highlighting what fans can expect from the upcoming Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack. The new Sims 4 expansion will give players a new place to explore, venues to check out, and childhood imaginations to dive into.
The Sims 4 is constantly releasing new updates and DLC that put fresh content into the game, keeping it interesting after all of these years since the base game’s release. This new Sims 4 expansion is launching hot on the heels of The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature, which released back in July 2025.
The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits Details Gameplay
The new Sims 4 Adventure Awaits gameplay trailer highlights what players can expect from the new expansion, as told from the perspective of an Imaginary Friend, one of the new key features of the Adventure Awaits Sims 4 DLC. Players will be able to explore the game’s newest area, Gibbi Point, which consists of three neighborhoods: Wanderwood Wilds, Crystal Valley, and Jellyfish Junction. Each neighborhood includes a Getaway for Sims to check out, and the player can use a new scheduling feature to determine when Sims visit, including on a recurring basis. Players can also opt to build their own Getaways and Custom Venues, complete with unique rules to follow, itineraries to check out, and challenges to try.
The Sims themselves will also be seeing some new additions to their personalities and traits. The Sims 4 is adding a Competitive trait that gets Sims heated up when competing, and potentially gives them a hair trigger for irritation if they lose. Child sims who complete Formative Moment Challenges may gain helpful traits to guide them as adults. Kids can also bring several Imaginary Friends to life, with an option to either say goodbye to them forever as they grow older, or to turn them into real Sims. These Sims 4 Imaginary Friends have their own personalities, including Goofball, Creative, Competitive, and Evil, and from the sound of it, Evil Imaginary Friends may cause real chaos for the player.
Adventure Awaits also arrives with a new career route for adult Sims to explore. Outdoorsy Sims who enjoyed the offerings of Enchanted by Nature may be a good fit for the Park Worker career, which lets Sims become either a Camp Counselor or Park Ranger.
From the sound of it, there should be quite a lot for players to explore and do in The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits. The expansion is available for pre-order now with an October 2 launch, and players who pick it up before November 13 will receive bonuses in the form of a Toasty Tower Lamp, Toasty Tootsie Socks, and a Toast-Tea Kettle to use in-game.
