While Grounded 2 is only at the start of its lifecycle in Early Access, there are already a number of mods available for the game, and players can expect more to be made by skilled individuals down the line. Currently, most of the mods for Grounded 2 focus on quality-of-life improvements, engine performance, and simple stat buffs to make the game easier.
Interestingly, many of the best Grounded 2 mods on Nexus Mods have been created and uploaded by the same user, Caites, with all of their mods being compatible with one another, for more ease of mind. There are also a few mods that swap out characters or bugs for other models. Naturally, these mods are only for players on PC, and the roadmap for Grounded 2 makes no mention of official mod support.

Riddikulus Mod
Gives The Cockroaches A New Silly Look
Grounded 2 is full of creepy crawlies, and already features an arachnophobia mode for those who don’t want to see spiders in their game. The Riddikulus Mod is made in a similar vein for those who find cockroaches too much to handle. The mod’s name is a reference to the Harry Potter spell that changes a boggart’s appearance to something silly, allowing it to be defeated with laughter.
For example, one version of the game’s three roaches is given a birthday hat and large red boots on each of its six legs, making it less intimidating. Another version is turned into a chef, sporting a large mustache.
Bigger Stacks
Carry More Resources At Once With 3 Options For Stack Sizes
Resource stacks are fairly low, with players sometimes only being able to carry 10 of an item at once. While these stack sizes can be increased by finding Mega Milk Molars in Grounded 2, even these upgrades aren’t enough for those who don’t want to waste time returning to base and micromanaging their inventory all the time.
Thankfully, the Bigger Stacks mod gives players three options to make their experience easier.
- Double base game stack sizes
- All stack sizes set to 100
- All stack sizes set to 999
No-HUD-No-Effects
Removes The HUD For Enhanced Immersion
Mods that remove the HUD are always going to be popular among those who enjoy immersive gaming experiences, and that is no different in Grounded 2, which has a lot of objective markers by default.
As its name implies, the No-HUD-No-Effects mod is also capable of disabling effects such as those that occur during combat. However, this is optional if players only want to remove the HUD and leave the rest of the game as it is.
Better Buggies
Improved Buggy Stats, Carry More, & Recruit More Ants
The Better Buggies mod does a number of things to improve Grounded 2’s mounts, known as Buggies, which currently consist of the Red Ant Buggy and the Orb Weaver Buggy, with more to be added in the future. First of all, it allows players to store more items on their Buggy, with stacks either being set to 99 or 2x their default value.
Secondly, the stats of Buggies have been improved, granting them more health, a higher movement speed, and jump height. Lastly, in the base game, Red Ant Buggies can recruit a single ant to fight alongside them, but this mod allows players to form armies of up to 10 ants. All of this helps to make several aspects of the game easier.
Item Spawner (Grounded2 Minimal) (Steam and Xbox Game Pass)
Spawn Items Instead Of Grinding Or Having To Find Specific Bugs
At times, Grounded 2 can feel a tad grindy, especially as some resources and materials can only be looted from bugs that are hard to find. Thankfully for PC players, the Item Spawner mod can help, allowing them to magic up any item with a few clicks.
The mod now works for players on the Xbox Game Pass for PC, as well as for those on Steam, although do be aware that updates to the base game will likely cause this mod to temporarily stop working until the creator can update it. This is likely as close to cheats for Grounded 2 that players will get.
Longer Or Shorter Days
Longer Daylight Hours Can Help With Exploration
Exploring Brookhollow Park at night is not recommended, even with a torch, as scorpions and other predators are lying in wait. Thankfully, the Longer or Shorter Days mod can help with this. Players can either increase the day and night length by 2x or 3x, or decrease it by 2x.
By making the days longer, players can keep exploring safely, and with other mods that increase carrying capacity, they can gather tonnes of resources before coming back to base to sleep. Sleeping will skip most of the night, or parts of the night can be spent crafting and building in relative safety.
