REPO has revealed an upcoming ‘tumble grab’ feature, something that, according to the developers, could “break the game.” Semiwork released REPO in February 2025 and quickly became a hit among players because it is a game with equal potential for scares and laughs with friends.
In REPO, up to six friends team up to recover valuable items using a physics-based grabbing tool. However, this task will not be easy, as this cooperative horror game features scary monsters such as the Apex Predator, a duckling that may seem cute at first glance but turns into a monstrosity when it reveals its true form. To keep REPO‘s momentum, the developers have released some post-launch updates with adjustments and new content. Now, they have announced a future feature that REPO will receive that could significantly change the game.
REPO Will Add Tumble Grab in Future Update
REPO has confirmed that it will add the tumble grab feature in the update scheduled for October 30. In a post on the REPO Steam page, the developers explain that while tumbling, it will be possible to grab objects, such as weapons and items. The post goes on to explain that players will be able to grab and climb walls when they notice that the red lines have turned yellow, adding a classic game mechanic to the horror title. The post notes, however, that the ability will be limited by a stamina bar.
In the comments on the Steam post and on the YouTube video, players reacted positively to the news. Some players noted that this addition would be a direct counter to the Mentalist, which is one of the most dangerous monsters in REPO because it causes significant damage and has tricky mechanics to deal with. With this mechanic, the Mentalist creates an energy field to grab and throw things, including players. With the addition of the tumble grab, REPO players will be able to hold a weapon while suspended in the air and fight back.
The tumble grab is one of the features that REPO players can expect as part of the Monster Update. Announced on August 29, semiwork revealed that the popular Steam game will get new monsters, mechanics, and features. Before the tumble grab reveal, another feature shown on September 12 that is coming to the game will allow players to communicate in spectator mode. To do so, players must possess the head of their dead character and wait for the battery to charge, then talk with living semibots.
