This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
With every passing One Piece chapter, Oda continues to reveal new information about Rocks D. Xebec and his crew. Most people were under the impression that Rocks was a cruel man who ruled with an iron fist, but as it turns out, it wasn’t entirely true. Rocks’ crew followed him because he had a vision. They wanted the biggest prize in the world, and for that, they needed to perform as a unit.
Fans already knew that the Rocks Pirates had many elite fighters in their ranks, but they hadn’t seen all of them. Luckily, Oda has been revealing them one by one. In One Piece Chapter 1156, he revealed another legendary pirate who would go on to join the Rocks Pirates.
Silver Axe Made His Debut In One Piece Chapter 1156
Silver Axe Was Known As Kyo The Hit Man
- Silver Axe joined the Rocks Pirates
- Silver Axe was Shiki’s rival
In One Piece Chapter 1156, fans saw Silver Axe, who was also a member of the Rocks Pirates. Previously, he was known as Kyo The Hit Man, so he clearly wasn’t an easygoing person. In the chapter, Silver Axe was on Hachinosu solely to join the Rocks Pirates. It is also possible that he wanted to clash with Shiki, whom he was rivals with.
I want to join the Rocks Pirates. —Silver Axe
Interestingly, when Silver Axe was kicked by another pirate, his body grew in size much like Urouge. So, there’s a chance that Silver Axe was the previous user of Urouge’s Devil Fruit, which increases the physical strength of an individual depending on the damage they receive. The Devil Fruit would certainly suit an axe-wielding maniac like Silver Axe. Considering he was able to join the Rocks Pirates, it’s highly likely that he had excellent control over his ability.
The Rocks Pirates Wanted To Conquer The World
Rocks D. Xebec was an ambitious man who wanted to go to the very top, and that was rather apparent from his actions. Rocks went to Marijoa and kidnapped five rulers who were attending the Reverie. What makes the feat even more ridiculous is that security is at its highest during the Reverie. For him to make such a ballsy move at such a dangerous time only adds to his fame.
While Rocks was in Marijoa, he also attacked and killed a Marine Admiral. It was reported that the Admiral sustained serious injuries and the medical team failed to save him. Rocks also infiltrated the Chamber of Marijoa, which is Imu’s special place. Before leaving, Rocks threatened Imu and told them that he would return to the same place.
It’s likely that after learning about Imu’s existence, Rocks wanted to displace them from power and create an era of freedom. He realized that it would be impossible to face Imu alone, which is why he gathered so many strong allies who would help him in the war.
Rocks D. Xebec Was The Strongest Pirate Of His Time
Rocks’ Strength Was Unmatched
Rocks D. Xebec was easily the most powerful pirate of his generation. He was a master swordsman whose attacks were said to have a destructive force similar to that of a cannonball or a giant hammer. With his sword strikes, he was able to destroy the Gates of Justice. Also, Rocks is the only character in One Piece who has actually killed a Marine Admiral.
In addition to his swordsmanship, Rocks had monstrous Haki. His clan with Harald in Marijoa nearly wiped out everything in a 5-kilometer radius. It’s safe to say that his Haki-infused attacks could bypass almost all defenses. Rocks’ physical abilities were likely on a different level from most individuals. After all, he was able to clash with a giant the size of Harald effortlessly.
Another piece of evidence that proves Rocks’ superiority to the rest was how it took the combined strength of Roger and Garp to bring him down. If they hadn’t teamed up, it’s likely that Rocks would still be alive and the World Government would have collapsed.
