This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
One Piece’s Elbaf arc has been absolutely phenomenal so far, and quite easily, the most exciting part of the story has been the Loki flashback, which has given the fans insight into some of the biggest legends of the series, such as Rocks D. Xebec. At the same time, it also gave the fans quite a lot of exciting information about the fabled God Valley Incident, which many fans wanted to see more of desperately. God Valley was truly an island of fate, and not only did Rocks end up dying here while Roger and Garp started a new era, but at the same time, it is also where a whole new generation was started.
Marshall D. Teach was a slave on God Valley, and after Rocks saved him, he eventually became a powerhouse in his own right. Similarly, Shanks was present in God Valley as well, as was Shamrock, and their lives were also greatly changed thanks to the God Valley Incident. Fans have always wondered how Shanks and Shamrock ended up on the different sides despite both having been born in God Valley, and now, Oda has officially answered that question.
Shanks And Shamrock Were Saved By Dragon
Dragon Ended Up Dropping Shamrock
- Dragon Was Attacked By A Holy Knight
- The Holt Knights Captured Shamrock
It goes without saying that Shanks and Shamrock are two of the most important characters in the Final Saga of One Piece, and Oda has made that abundantly clear by placing a lot of focus on these two, specifically in the page where they highlighted the most important characters in One Piece moving forward.
Please, I beg you! Save my children. Have them be raised by a warm and compassionate person. But don’t let him get to them. — Shanks and Shamrock’s Mom
Shanks and Shamrock are both going to be incredibly important, but they’ll undoubtedly be playing completely different roles in the Final Saga. While Shanks is a pirate and is, ultimately, working towards the downfall of the World Government, Shamrock is working to preserve the Government, being a Celestial Dragon himself.
As fans know, Shanks and Shamrock’s stories were greatly influenced by Dragon. On God Valley, Dragon was the one who saved these two after their mother had been stabbed by Garling Figarland. Had it not been for Dragon, both Shanks and Shamrock would’ve been World Government members right now. However, Dragon took the kids and ran to safety.
In One Piece chapter 1161, Oda officially confirmed to the fans that Dragon ended up dropping the kids, and while he did save Shanks, Shamrock was taken by a Holy Knight. Dragon was up against a Holy Knight in God Valley, and the moment he was about to be finished off, Whitebeard saved his life. In the meantime, Dragon managed to pick up Shanks and run with him, while the Holy Knight took Shamrock and went away with him at the same time.
It’s sake from my hometown in the West Blue. I’ve travelled all around the world and drank the finest booze, but the sake from my hometown still tastes the best. — Shanks to Whitebeard
Shanks And Shamrock Are On The Opposing Ends
The Final Saga Will Focus on The Two Brothers
Essentially, Shanks and Shamrock’s fate was completely sealed with that one moment where Dragon ended up dropping them. While Dragon wanted to save both the kids, he only managed to save Shanks. As fans know already, Shanks ended up becoming a renowned pirate and certainly turned out to be great. Unfortunately, Shamrock made his way to Garling eventually, and he was raised to be a Holy Knight. Shanks and Shamrock are now on opposing ends and fans will definitely see them come face-to-face at some point in the Final Saga. It is only a matter of time before Oda throws some more focus on the life of the two brothers, and fans definitely can’t wait to see that.
