Nintendo Switch 2 gamers have eight big games to look forward to in October 2025 so far. The Switch 2 launched with an impressive lineup of games, including the critically-acclaimed open world racer Mario Kart World. A little over a month later, Donkey Kong Bananza hit the scene, and Drag x Drive launched in August. September hasn’t featured any Switch 2 exclusive releases, but it has expanded the new console’s library with major third-party games.
In September, Switch 2 gamers have been treated to games like Star Wars Outlaws, Cronos: The New Dawn, and of course, the beloved Hollow Knight: Silksong. Silksong is one of the highest-rated new game releases of the year, and so September 2025 has no doubt been a big one for the Switch 2, but October is shaping up to be even busier.
There are at least eight big new game releases coming to the Switch 2 in October 2025. The month will start with Borderlands 4 on October 3, followed by Yooka-Replaylee on October 9, Little Nightmares 3 on October 10, Pokemon Legends: Z-A on October 16, Persona 3 Reload on October 23, and Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake and Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection on October 30. Finally, the new Switch 2 releases for October 2025 will conclude with Mina the Hollower‘s debut on October 31.
Upcoming Switch 2 Games for October 2025
- Borderlands 4 – October 3
- Yooka-Replaylee – October 9
- Little Nightmares 3 – October 10
- Pokemon Legends: Z-A – October 16
- Persona 3 Reload – October 23
- Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake – October 30
- Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection – October 30
- Mina the Hollower – October 31
Borderlands 4 released earlier this month for PC, PS5, and Xbox, so Switch 2 gamers will be playing a little bit of catch-up with Gearbox Software’s new looter-shooter. Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 should be relatively the same experience as it is on other platforms, though it does come with a fairly significant catch. Unfortunately, Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 does not have split-screen support. This is disappointing for sure, but the core Borderlands 4 experience should still keep fans plenty busy on Switch 2.
While there are some exceptions to the rule, Nintendo tends to release at least one big new exclusive game every month, and in October, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is filling that role. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is technically a Switch 1 game, but it will have an enhanced Switch 2 port that includes better performance and graphics. The definitive way to experience Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be on Switch 2, but fans should note that version of the does cost $10 more.
Switch 2 gamers will be ending the year strong. Besides Pokemon Legends: Z-A releasing October 16, fans can also look forward to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on November 6, Kirby Air Riders on November 20, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on December 4.
