Wuchang: Fallen Feathers lacks a map or waypoints that players can use to guide them on where to go next. A lot of the game is linear, while certain areas in each region can be a bit more open, having a lot of optional areas to explore and bosses to fight.
Shu Sanctum is one of the first areas players will reach, where they are faced with more of an open choice, with the path forward to the next required area not clear. Here’s where to go after Shu Sanctum, along with what optional content can be found nearby if you want to find it.

Next Main Area After Shu Sanctum in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
When you get to Shu Sanctum, the first main thing you’ll need to do is beat the boss found on the third floor, the Feathered Priest. While there is no path out of the boss room to progress through, this boss drops the Shu Sanctum Key. With this key in hand, head back down to the first floor and interact with the large handle in the central mechanism in the Sanctum.
Doing so will open the floor, revealing a staircase on the opposite side of the room from the Shrine. This stairway leads to the Mercury Workshop, a mostly linear dungeon that will take you to the next required area.

Optional Content Around Shu Sanctum in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
While you may want to keep moving forward to continue with the main story, the first optional boss of the game is found somewhat close to Shu Sanctum. On the opposite side of the building from the Shrine is a door that leads to this optional area, taking the ladder off to the right to climb up to the rooftops. This area can also be tackled before you fight the Feathered Priest, if you also just need an area to level up at. Here are some of the things you can find around Shu Sanctum:
All of this content is optional, but a lot of the NPC side quests are missable. If you continue the main story, a lot of the NPCs in this area will move on, and the rewards for their quests will be taken with them. Most of the things listed above will require items you probably already have in your inventory, so it’s best to use them to get those bonus rewards before they go away.
