New Steam game Everdream Village looks similar to Stardew Valley, but with 3D graphics. Stardew Valley did not invent the cozy life/farm sim genre, but it certainly popularized it. The wildly successful game has influenced countless others since its launch in 2016, with Everdream Village among them.
Everdream Village is a cozy game where players explore islands, build their own village, and, in typical cozy game fashion, interact with NPCs, with romance options available. When they’re not managing their village and relationships, Everdream Village players can use magic to transform into animals, grow craps, terraform the game world, cook, fish, complete quests, and more. On paper, Everdream Village definitely sounds like the kind of game that will greatly appeal to fans of the genre, particularly those that like Stardew Valley.
Everdream Valley Steam Demo is Out Now
What sets Everdream Village apart is its visual presentation. Whereas Stardew Valley uses 2D graphics, as many other games in the genre do, Everdream Village features a vibrant 3D game world. It gives the game a unique look that should help it stand out among the many other cozy games on the market. Those intrigued about Everdream Village and curious to try it out for themselves are in luck as the game currently has a demo available on Steam. There is no release date yet for the full game, but we do know that besides Steam, the game is also aiming for release on the PlayStation Store.
It will definitely be interesting to see how the full version of Everdream Village stacks up compared to other games like Stardew Valley. It’s worth pointing out that developer Mooneaters previously made Everdream Valley, a similar Stardew Valley-like game with 3D graphics that has earned positive reviews. Everdream Valley shares many similarities with Everdream Village, though one of its standout features is 4-player co-op. Co-op has yet to be confirmed for Everdream Village, but it’s such a staple of the genre that it would be surprising if it doesn’t make its way to the game at some point down the line.
Everdream Valley is currently on sale, so those that play the Everdream Village demo and need something to tide them over until the full release can pick up its predecessor at a discount. Until August 11, Everdream Valley is available for $7.49, which is 70% of its usual asking price. There are plenty of other Stardew Valley-like games on Steam to check out as well, so cozy game fans should really have no shortage of games to play on the platform.
