The latest batch of PlayStation Plus games for September 2025 are now available to download in the UK and Europe, with a US release expected in the coming hours. Those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus Essential or above have another fantastic lineup of free games for this month, as Sony is giving away Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners. All three games can be kept for as long as the user is subscribed to any of PlayStation Plus’ three tiers.
The September 2025 PlayStation Plus Essential games were made available in the UK and Europe at approximately 10 AM BST. All three games are expected to be released in the US between 10 AM and 12 PM EST.
With Xbox and PlayStation continuing to expand their subscription services with new features and benefits, there has never been a better time to be subscribed to either PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass. Both services offer a wide variety of benefits, but undoubtedly the standout for both is the never-ending list of new games. Each month, Sony gives away three different games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, which are then theirs to keep for as long as they are subscribed to the service. There’s also a massive catalog of games available with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, but these titles are rotated monthly, similar to Xbox Game Pass.
Late last month, Sony confirmed the next lineup of games for PlayStation Plus in September 2025. Now, with the first Tuesday of the month officially here, all subscribers of PlayStation Plus can now download Psychonauts 2 for PS4, Stardew Valley for PS4, and Viewfinder for either PS4 or PS5. While the former two games are PlayStation 4 titles, they can also be played on the PlayStation 5 thanks to backwards compatibility. As for Viewfinder, the unique puzzle title has a native PlayStation 5 version alongside its PlayStation 4 edition.

While it’s going to be another great month for subscribers, it’s now officially too late for fans to redeem the PlayStation Plus games for August 2025. For those who may have let the titles slip by last month, Sony gave subscribers the chance to get their hands on Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2. While these three titles were previously available to all subscribers, Extra and Premium users also lost out on two great games, as Sword of the Sea and The Rogue Prince of Persia were also removed from the game catalog.
Sadly, there are even more games set to leave PS Plus in September. Those subscribed to Extra and Premium will want to check out Dragon’s Crown Pro, FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, Pistol Whip, Road 96, The Plucky Squire, and UFC 5 as soon as they can, as all seven titles will be removed from the game catalog at some point this month. Thankfully, PlayStation regularly adds new games to the service, which means there’s likely a new batch of titles arriving in the coming weeks.
