New Pokemon TCG Live Code Gives Full Art Card of Classic Starter Pokemon

A brand-new distribution code for Pokemon TCG Live is giving fans the chance to pick up two Special Illustration Rare cards from the newest set, including a fan-favorite Starter Pokemon. The beloved trading card game has officially welcomed its newest era with the launch of the most recent expansion, ushering in the “Mega Evolution” era with the titular expansion. The newest expansion saw the return of Mega Pokemon to the game for the first time since “XY: Evolutions,” with ten different Mega Pokemon ex added. Now, Pokemon TCG Live fans can pick up one of the set’s most sought-after cards for free.

Pokemon‘s new “Mega Evolution” expansion brought back Mega forms for a plethora of Pokemon‘s most beloved creatures. The set was highlighted by “Mega Gardevoir ex” and “Mega Lucario ex” serving as the cover Pokemon, serving as some of the most iconic Mega Evolutions in the franchise. Several popular classic Mega Pokemon were also brought back with the new expansion, including “Mega Venusaur ex” and “Mega Latias ex.” Pokemon TCG Live fans can now pick up some of the set’s most popular cards for a limited time.

Pokemon TCG Live officially rolled out a brand-new distribution code for fans to redeem, granting two free Special Illustration Rare cards. Players can use the code “MEGAEVOLUTION25” in Pokemon TCG Live‘s in-game shop to acquire the Special Illustration Rare versions of both Mega Venusaur ex and Mega Kangaskhan ex. The code will only be available for a limited time, though, with fans needing to redeem the code before November 13 to pick up the free full-art card. Players will only be able to redeem the code once, giving out one copy of each Pokemon.

The free Pokemon TCG Live cards include a pair of cards that could be major players within the trading card game following Mega Evolution’s release. Venusaur ex is expected to be a significant part of the resurgence of Grass decks following Mega Evolution’s release, with the ability to manipulate Energies allowing players to quickly load up Pokemon for big attacks. Mega Kangaskhan ex could also be an effective choice for many decks, allowing players to draw cards with its Ability and using its Attack to deal big damage for winning coin flips.

Pokemon TCG Live‘s new set is expected to bring some big changes to the game alongside the return of Mega Pokemon. Mega Gardevoir ex is expected to slot right into the Gardevoir ex strategy that has already been a powerhouse within the Pokemon TCG‘s competitive meta throughout the Scarlet and Violet era.
