This post contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 finally received an official release date recently, bringing an end to months of speculation. At one point, fans started to think that the third season would not happen for another couple of years. Thankfully, MAPPA confirmed that JJK Season 3 will release in January 2026. However, the announcement has left some fans utterly disappointed.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Is Going To Be Divided Into Multiple Parts
JJK Season 3 Will Have Several Parts
- Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will Release In 2026
- JJK’s New Season Will Adapt The Culling Game Arc
Based on the reports, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will be split into two parts. The first part will cover two arcs that lead up to the Culling Game Arc. It would make the most sense to have the entire Culling Game Arc in the same part so that fans don’t have to wait for months to see what happens next. This is not what fans had envisioned. They were expecting the anime to remain intact, without any divisions. They did not want the anime to be divided into multiple parts.
Since the first part is being released in January 2026, it’s highly probable that the second part will air towards the end of the year or maybe even in early 2027. MAPPA is known for its quality, and the studio will want to protect its reputation at all costs. So, it won’t rush the production just to release the episodes quickly. Fans already know that producing a high-quality anime takes months, and certain episodes can take over a year to finish. Therefore, the second cour of Jujutsu Kaisen could end up being released in 2027. It’s likely that the anime will consist of 24 episodes in total. Both the first and second cours will have 12 episodes each.
JJK Season 3 Release Date Has Been Confirmed
As previously stated, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is scheduled to be released in January 2026. An exact date remains unknown, but the first episode will likely be released in the first or second week of January. It’s worth mentioning that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has to compete with several other series for the spotlight.
It has been confirmed that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, Fire Force Final Season, and Hell’s Paradise Season 2 are all being released in January 2026. Like Jujutsu Kaisen, the exact dates for most remain unknown, but fans can expect that to change in the coming months.
Out of all the titles, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will pose the biggest threat to Jujutsu Kaisen. The anime is currently the highest-rated title on MyAnimeList. When the first season was released, it eclipsed the likes of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, Gintama, and One Piece. Viewers instantly fell in love with Frieren as a character, and they wanted to witness her growth firsthand.
Hell’s Paradise is another highly anticipated title that will be launching its second season in January 2026. The first season was released in 2023, and it became an instant hit with the viewers. For years, there was complete silence from MAPPA regarding the next installment. Thankfully, the studio shared the release date at the latest Jump Festa.
What To Expect From Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will be Packed With Action
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will cover the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident, in which Gojo Satoru was sealed by Kenjaku. With Satoru gone, the higher-ups were free to do what they wanted, and that’s why they decided to go after Itadori Yuji. Since the beginning, they have been against Yuji being kept alive. However, the higher-ups are finally free to do as they please. In fact, fans know that Yuta Okkutsu has been selected to exterminate Yuji.
The third season of JJK will reveal what happens to Yuji and how he manages to stay alive. The anime will also introduce new villains with unique abilities, and they will challenge the heroes. It will also be interesting to see what happens to Gojo Satoru. The strongest sorcerer was trapped in the Shibuya Incident arc, but it’s quite obvious that the story cannot end until he’s freed.
