How to Reach Shellwood & Get Its Map in Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong drops players into an enormous map, segmented by different areas that feature unique biomes and lore to go along with it. Shellwood is one of these areas that you’ll visit towards the end of Act One of the game. However, players will need to progress through the Far Fields and deal with a tough boss fight in Greymoor to reach the area. Here’s a complete guide to help you reach Shellwood and get a map of the area.

How to Reach Shellwood in Silksong

To reach Shellwood in Silksong, players will need to progress through the Far Fields and reach Greymoor. For players to use the air currents to exit Far Fields, they’ll need to receive the Drifter’s Cloak (Float ability) by completing the Flexile Spines quest.

Riding the Air Currents to Greymoor Silksong

Once they finally have the ability, head over to the main cavern of Far Fields (marked above) and ride the air currents up to the surface.

Once players enter Greymoor, they can acquire the map of the area by simply heading right from the entrance and purchasing it from Shakra. Once you finally have a map to know your way around Greymoor, keep heading left, past the Halfway Home inn. The entrance to the inn will be closed, so you’ll have to climb your way over the building and reach the area beyond.

After making your way through tight caverns and fields of Crawbugs, you’ll eventually reach an open area where you’ll encounter Moorwing (boss).

It’s a rather tricky boss fight, but it’s only after defeating the boss that you will be able to progress further west and enter the area of Haunted Bellhart. While players will need to complete a rather important quest here, they can skip this area for now and head further west.

After the cutscene concludes, you can simply run past all the strung-up bugs in Bellhart and progress further west until eventually you’ll end up in Shellwood.

Where to Find the Map for Shellwood in Silksong?

Now that you’ve arrived at Shellwood in Silksong, it’s time to get your hands on a map to make navigation easier. Keep heading further west, past the swamp and start climbing higher and higher to progress to the next area of Shellwood (doorway to the top-left).

Survive Ambush to Get Shellwood Map Silksong

You’ll enter a dark cavern, and dropping to the lower platform will initiate an ambush of bugs that you’ll need to take down.

Take Elevator Down to Get Shellwood Map Silksong

Once all bugs are defeated, climb to the upper area and exit through the pathway on the left. You’ll spot a cage elevator, which you can use to head to the lower section of the area. Once descended, you can stomp on the button to your right to open a shortcut back to the main area.

Keep heading left past the swamp and into the next area to the left. Here, you’ll finally meet Shakra, who’ll have the Bellhart and Shellwood map in her offerings. Now you’ll be able to freely explore the lush green area of Shellwood, and can head back to Bellhart to lift the curse off its citizens in Silksong.
