How to Get the Reaper Crest in Silksong

Crests in Hollow Knight: Silksong change how Hornet‘s attacks work and also have different tool slots. This means that when players acquire a new Crest, they will have to unlock all the slots on the new crest, even if they had unlocked the slots on their old crest.

How to Get the Reaper Crest in Silksong

To get the Crest, players must first progress through the game until they reach Greymoor, which is a main story location. Once you arrive at this location, turn left, going towards the Halfway Home Bench. Make sure to interact with this bench, as you will be using this bench quite a lot when exploring the whole of the area and running back to the boss room.

From the Halfway Home bench, head left again, and you will have an encounter. Deal with the enemies so that you can leave the room and continue left. Ignore the enemies standing outside and head further left into the tower. Now your goal is to go even further left, but you can’t do that right now since the door is locked. Instead, go up the tower, stick to the left side so you can exit, and drop all the way down to the lever, which will open the gate.

Doing this makes it so you don’t have to climb the tower again when revisiting this place.

Now, to the bottom left of this large room is a hole that leads down to the Moorwing boss arena, so you can ignore that for now. Instead, head towards the middle section on the left. You will have to climb up some platforms, and you can head inside to find the Chapel of the Reaper.

Chapel of the Reaper in Silksong

The Chapel of the Reaper is not lengthy by any means, but there is an encounter that might be difficult depending on when you are visiting this Chapel to acquire the Crest. First, drop down and head right to where you will spot a moving wheel, which is making spiked cogs move alongside it. You need to jump and dash towards the platforms and go further up without getting hit by the cogs, as they will deal damage to you. You can down Pogo on these spiky cogs, but it is not recommended, especially if you have the starting Crest equipped.

Once you reach the platform above, you will have to fight a bunch of enemies that will spawn one or two at a time. This section can be annoying, but the enemies are all those you have previously encountered, so you might have an idea how to deal with them. Once the encounter is finished, head up to find a body that you can press the Bind button on. This will reward you with the Reaper Crest, and its description states that it allows you to attack with heavy, arcing slashes and reap additional Silk from enemies.
