How to Get Omni-Shovel Tier 2 Upgrade in Grounded 2

Grounded 2 features an Omni-Tool, which acts as an axe, hammer, wrench, and shovel without needing to carry them separately. The Omni-Shovel is a pretty handy tool that will allow you to unearth creatures burrowing in the ground and buried treasure. However, some buried treasure mid-game will require players to upgrade their Omni-Shovel to tier 2. So, here’s everything you need to know to get that upgrade.

Players can upgrade their Omni-Shovel to tier 2 at max, due to the limitations of the early access version of Grounded 2 at the time of writing. More tiers will become available to acquire once the game receives major updates in Winter and Summer. Crafting the Omni-Shovel tier 2 upgrade is relatively easy compared to others, but the fight against scorpions can be a bit tough. So, it’s recommended to go in prepared with venom resistance gear.

Here are all the resources you’ll need to get the level 2 Omni-Shovel upgrade.

  • 2x Pine Needles
  • 1x Northern Scorpion Stinger
  • 2000 Raw Science

Where to Find Pine Needles

Players can find the Pine Needles in the Pine Hill area, just west of the Pinic Table in Grounded 2. Once you head to the location, make sure to keep an eye on branches with needle-like plants sticking out of them. Once you find some, use your tier 2 Omni-Axe to chop down the Needle Bundle.

After chopping the Needle Bundles, the Pine Needles will drop to the ground, which you can pick up and bring back to your base in Grounded 2.

Fighting Northern Scorpion Jr Grounded 2

The next target is getting the Northern Scorpion Stingers by beating a Northern Scorpion Jr. in Grounded 2. Players will need to go prepared into this battle, as the venom released by these scorpions can incapacitate them quickly. Make sure to have some venom-resistant gear or Scorpidote smoothies to add some venom-reduction stats to your character.

If you can manage to get venom resistance on your character, use a melee weapon and a shield against the scorpions; otherwise, resort to a bow and an arrow. Once you defeat a Northern Scorpion Jr., there’s a chance its body will drop the stingers needed for the Omni-Shovel tier 2 upgrade.

After acquiring all the materials required, head to the nearest Ranger Station and get the Omni-Shovel upgrade in Grounded 2.
