The Land Snake Pokemon, Dudunsparce, is making its debut in Pokemon GO this month during the Completely Normal event (kicks off on September 23). Dudunsparce, introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in 2022, is the evolution of the Normal-type Gen 2 Pokemon, Dunsparce.
The new Pokemon GO monster doesn’t look that much different from its pre-evolution. Still, if you’re a collector who really wants to get every Pokemon in the mobile game, you can keep reading to find out how to evolve Dunsparce into Dudunsparce in Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO: How to Get Dudunsparce
Land Snake’s Evo Is Here
If you’re reading this during the Completely Normal event (which starts at 10 am local time on Tuesday, September 23), you will be able to get Dudunsparce by feeding your Dunsparce 50 Candy. That’s all there is to it — there’s no odd evolution requirement like some other Pokemon that need hearts or for it to be a certain time of day.
You should be able to encounter a lot of Dunsparce during the event (ends on September 27 at 8 pm local time), because the encounter rate for the Land Snake Pokemon will be increased. There will also be research tasks and a collection challenge to complete to earn even more chances of capturing it.
And if you don’t mind spending a couple of bucks, you can pick up the $2 Timed Research to get even more Dunsparce encounters.
Can Dunsparce and Dudunsparce Be Shiny?
Yes and No
Dunsparce currently has a shiny form available in Pokemon GO, but unfortunately, the debut of Dudunsparce is missing its shiny variant.
You can check out images of Dunsparce, Shiny Dunsparce, and Dudunsparce above to see the differences in coloring. It’s also worth pointing out that Dudunsparce, at least in the main games, has two forms: Two-Segment Form and Three-Segment Form, and the segments refer to the parts of Dudunsparce’s body.
Most of the time, when you evolve Dunsparce, it’ll become a two-segment Dudunsparce. There’s a 1% chance that you will get the Three-Segment form, but it has not been confirmed if the chances will be the same for Pokemon GO players.
