Fortnitemares Quests 2025: How To Get A Free Fortnite Skin And All Rewards

Happy Fortnitemares 2025! Fortnite‘s best annual event is back, and it’s bigger than ever. This Halloween season, Fortnite is introducing nine new collaborations with horror movies, spooky games, and even Doja Cat, who takes over as the Big Bad of the event. While many of the new skins and rewards will be available in the shop, you can earn a lot of free Fortnitemares rewards, including a creepy new skin, by completing your Fortnitemares quests. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to complete all of your Fortnitemares challenges, yes including even where to find Velma’s magnifying glass, and earn every last Halloween-themed item that the game is giving out for free.

Fortnitemares quests 2025

The list of Fortnitemares quests will be updated throughout the event, which runs between October 9 and November 1. Therefore, we’ll update this guide whenever new quests come out too. Below you can find guides on how to complete each quest.

Complete Fred, Velma, Daphne, and Shaggy’s found quests (4) – 10k XP

For this, you’ll want to visit the Mystery Inc. gang where they hang out during Fortnitemares. Shaggy is in the gas station west of Bugswatter Beach; Daphne is in Viney Shafts just south of there; Fred is by the road at the southeastern edge of Ranger’s Ruin; Velma is in the snowy area between Gourdy Gate and O.X.R. HQ. Speaking to them will allow you to initiate their individual quests, and completing all four will net you the full completion of the quest bolded above.

Below, we’ve detailed how to complete each quest for the Mystery Inc. gang, including images tied to each of them. Note that you must complete each of these quests in the match you start it in. If you exit the round before it’s completed, you’ll start over next time. They’re also on timers, though with our guide, you’ll be well ahead of pace.

Help Shaggy – Make a burger

Shaggy, as he tends to be, is hungry. He wants you to make a burger for him. This is the easiest of these quests, since your screen will be filled with little exclamation points marking burger ingredients you can collect by walking over them, all inside the gas station where he hangs out. Once you’ve collected three ingredients, you can click on the stove behind the counter to make the burger. Once you’ve done that, just deliver the burger to Shaggy by speaking to him again and you’re set.

Help Daphne – Find the Mystery-solving wardrobe

Somebody has stolen Daphne’s mystery-solving gear, and she wants you to find out who did it. To find the culprit, you’ll need to head southwest from Daphne’s perch at Viney Shafts–you should see a quest marker on your mini-map. On the cliff overlooking the reboot van there, you’ll find the Mothman NPC, who says he stole the gear in hopes that using it would make him a good enough detective to become a member of the Mystery Inc. gang himself. No need to return to Daphne–once you’ve heard Mothman’s sob story, the quest is complete.

Help Velma – Find Velma’s magnifying glass

Velma, who’s hanging out in the mountains at Crackshot’s Cabin, has lost her magnifying glass, and she needs your help to find it. Jinkies! Fortunately, it’s not far away–the magnifying glass is upstairs, on the right, behind a pair of large boxes. Once you’ve clicked on it, Velma will immediately collect the magnifying glass and start looking around for clues, and the quest will be complete.

Help Fred – Repair the Mystery Machine

Fred is stranded by the side of the road because the Mystery Machine has broken down, and now he needs your help to fix it. To do so, you’ll need to collect tires and engine parts, which can be found by heading down the road west toward Ranger’s Rest–it’s at that named location where you’ll find everything you need. Once you’ve gathered the parts, return to Fred to complete the quest

I encountered a minor visual bug during this quest that could cause some confusion if you experience it. As soon as I received the quest from Fred, one of the objectives (collect two tires) was immediately marked as completed, and I couldn’t actually see what that objective was. But the tires were still on the ground and marked with exclamation points, and I could complete the quest normally. So be wary.

Hire Scooby-Doo – 10k XP

Scooby himself is also on the island. You can find Scooby hanging with Shaggy west of Bugswatter Beach. When you speak to him, you can hire him, but be warned that this quest will be tricky to complete early in Fortnitemares, as many players each round will be trying to complete it, and only one person can. It may be best to head there when the Battle Bus isn’t soaring anywhere near his location, as fewer players will go so far out of their way. The nice thing is this is a team-up quest, meaning anyone in your squad can hire him and you’ll all complete the quest.

By interacting with phone booths, you can dress like Ghostface even if you’ve not bought the skin.

Hit different players with Last Call (7) – 10k XP

Last Call is a small one-handed knife inspired by Scream’s Ghostface. It’s a legendary-tier item, and it can only be found by interacting with phone booths around the island. The quickest way to find these phone booths is to visit any gas station. Once you have the Last Call knife, you just have to use it on opponents seven times–once for each Scream movie, perhaps.

Defeat the Mother of Thorns – 10k XP

The Mother of Thorns is Doja Cat’s alter ego, as she’s the big boss of Fortnitemares 2025. To take her on, head to the five Pumpkin Takeover areas. These are found west of Supernova Academy, in the center of Viney Shafts, in the center of Gourdy Gate, south of Ranger’s Ruin, and in the center of Pumpkin Pass.

The Mother of Thorns can spawn at any one of them in a given round, and you’ll know where she is when the round begins because the boss icon (a skull wearing a crown) will be shown there on the map. Be warned that, like most boss battles in Fortnite, she’s best approached as a team, so you may want to save this one for when you’re playing with a reliable and full team. This is a team-up quest.

Restore health or gain shields with Scooby Snacks (450) – 10k XP

Scooby Snacks aren’t so rare, and they’re a reskin of the Dog Treats item that’s been seen in Fortnite before, so you may already be familiar with them–in fact, my Fortnite group was already calling them Scooby Snacks long ago. You’ll find them all over the island, then you need to use them to heal or apply shields when you’re at less than full strength.

Pull consumables with the Thorn Ripper (5) – 10k XP

The Thorn Ripper is another event item that can pull items–or players–in closer to you. It’s dropped by the Mother of Thorns herself, so you’ll need to take her on to claim it for yourself. Simply pull things like health and shield items with it five times to complete this quest.

Visit Pumpkin Takeovers with the Mother of Thorns (3) – 10k XP

Pumpkin Takeovers, as the name suggests, are areas on the island that have been taken over by pumpkin patches. There are five of them, but you only need to visit three to complete this challenge. However, the Mother of Thorns has to be there. After you defeat her, she’ll accompany you on your travels. So do the earlier Mother of Thorns quest first if you want to try to notch multiple stops in one round.

Alternatively, just be sure to drop anywhere you’ve not seen her yet when a round begins and she’s there. Pumpkin Takeovers can be seen as orange areas with a blue hue around them on the map. In case you missed it, they’re found west of Supernova Academy, in the center of Viney Shafts, in the center of Gourdy Gate, south of Ranger’s Ruin, and in the center of Pumpkin Pass. This is a team-up quest.

Fortnitemares 2025 free rewards

There are many free cosmetics to be claimed in this year’s Fortnitemares event, including a creepy skin that looks like something out of a slasher movie. To earn them all, you have to level up 15 times, with rewards unlocking along the way before wrapping up with the free skin at the end. Here’s what you get for each account level milestone you cross.
