With the start of its annual Fortnitemares event looming, Fortnite has officially teased major crossovers with the film franchise Scream, the video game R.E.P.O., and the animated series Scooby-Doo. Fortnite is currently in the middle of Chapter 6 Season 4, which has featured collaborations with franchises like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Halo.
Fortnitemares is Fortnite‘s annual Halloween event, and it’s when Epic Games tends to debut its spookiest cosmetics and horror crossovers. While players were recently treated to a major content update on October 2 to usher in the game’s Kpop Demon Hunters crossover, it seems as if Fortnitemares won’t officially begin until the next major update on October 9. If past years are any indication, players can expect to see unique items and map changes in the game’s battle royale modes very soon. It’s expected that Fortnitemares will stick around for the remainder of Chapter 6 Season 4, which is scheduled to end on November 1.
Scream, Scooby-Doo, and R.E.P.O. Are Coming to Fortnite
In three recent posts on Reddit, Fortnite‘s official account teased major upcoming collaborations with Scooby-Doo, R.E.P.O., and Scream. Rumors of a collaboration between Scooby-Doo and Fortnite have been swirling around the internet for a while, and many fans were excited to see Epic Games finally make it official. While there’s no way of knowing just how extensive the crossover will be, the teaser image seems to indicate that several skins will likely come to the Item Shop.
Meanwhile, it seems as if Scream fans can look forward to seeing the iconic killer Ghostface come to the island soon. The image shared by Fortnite shows Scream‘s Ghostface holding up a knife with Peely’s reflection shown on the blade, which means the horror icon will likely be coming to the Item Shop at some point during the event. Fortnite also shared an image of one of its zombies coming through a door with several characters from the co-op survival horror game R.E.P.O. fleeing for their lives, indicating that players will likely see multiple skins come to the Item Shop.
While many fans were excited to see Epic Games officially tease these collaborations, one horror franchise was notably missing. It has been rumored that Fortnite could feature a crossover with Friday the 13th, bringing the killer Jason Voorhees to the island. While Epic Games hasn’t officially teased the character’s arrival on the island yet, there’s still plenty of time for him to show up in the game during Fortnitemares. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
