Some things in Hollow Knight: Silksong won’t appear until you trigger the right quest for it. For example, you can’t collect Spine Cores from Hokers in Silksong until you speak to the Seamstress and take their quest. Similarly, Flintbeetles will appear at specific locations after you trigger the Volatile Flintbeetles quest in Silksong. If you’re wondering where to find these enemies, this article will show you where to find Flintbeetles in HK Silksong.
Volatile Flintbeetles Quest In Silksong – Hollow Knight: Silksong
After accepting the Volatile Flintbeetles quest in Silksong, three Flintbeetles will appear in different locations in the Marrow. You can find the first Flintbeetle west of the Marrow, right after getting out of Bone Bottom, when going through the shortcut to open the first gate that leads into the Marrow.
The second Flintbeetle is at the highest place in the Marrow. You can fast travel into the Marrow, which will put you right under the second Flintbeetle. The last Flintbeetle is on the east side of the Marrow, above the last bench, before fighting the mini-boss that leads into the Hunter’s March area.
After beating all three Flintbeetles, go back to the Wishwall and turn in the three Flintgems to get a Memory Locket as a reward for completing the Volatile Flintbeetles quest in Silksong.
How To Find Flintbeetles Locations In Silksong – Hollow Knight: Silksong
Finding Flintbeetles in Hollow Knight: Silksong has a fun mechanic where Hornet needs to find them by tracking their stone-sheddings and their aromatic dung. While scavenging through the Marrow, you’ll come across these golden, smelly objects, and Hornet can actually smell them.
After that, a trail will appear where you can follow it to the next clue, or the Flintbeetle itself. There will be a lot of enemies and bugs on the way, so make sure to clear them before starting the Flintbeetle fight.
While they’re normal enemies, Flintbeetles act and attack like mini-bosses in Silksong. They toss a lot of fireballs while spinning around the area, creating a trail of fire behind them. They’re extremely aggressive and like to corner Hornet during their fights. For that, it’s important to look for windows to attack the Flintbeetles while dodging their constant attacks. Additionally, it’s okay to leave the platform for another one to heal or catch a breath. Flintbeetles only follow you when you’re on their platforms.
