This article contains spoilers for the One Piece manga.
The Rocks Pirates were the most legendary pirate crew to ever sail the One Piece seas. With Rocks D. Xebec at their command, they were a formidable bunch. However, they ended up disbanding after the events of God Valley, and all the members went their separate ways. Some even started their own crews, and became fearsome pirate captains in their own right.
Ochoku
Captain of Unnamed Pirate Crew
Ochoku, also known by some fans as Wang Zhi, was actually a pirate relevant to an event that unfolded in One Piece during the two-year timeskip — the Rocky Port Incident. This event involved characters like Blackbeard, Koby, Trafalgar Law, and, of course, Ochoku.
Ochoku, who previously sailed with Rocks, took over the Pirate Island after Rocks’s fall, and became its ruler. While it’s never explicitly stated that Ochoku started his own pirate crew, it’s unlikely he took over the island on his own. He was later beaten by Blackbeard, thanks to the help of Law and Koby.
Captain John
Captain of Unnamed Pirate Crew
Captain John isn’t a new character in One Piece. After all, he was introduced to the story all the way back in Thriller Bark where he was one of the General Zombies.
Before that, Captain John was a part of the Rocks Pirates. After their disbanding and before his eventual death, he did start his own pirate crew. This unnamed pirate crew is what led to his downfall. His own men turned against him and took his life.
Shiki
The Captain of the Golden Lion Pirates
Shiki the Golden Lion is quite a legendary pirate. He was already a force to be reckoned with among the Rocks Pirates, and he even made a name for himself afterwards. Until Luffy’s involvement, Shiki was the only known person to ever escape Impel Down, an insane feat to manage, especially on his own.
Shiki’s pirate crew is called the Golden Lion Pirates, but not much is known about them. Shiki is their only relevant member, and even he isn’t really present in the story right now.
Kaido
The Captain of the Beast Pirates
Kaido, back in his days as Rocks Pirate, was just a rookie. He was only a teenager then, and was outshined by older pirates like Whitebeard and Big Mom. Kaido, however, made a name for himself afterwards as the World’s Strongest Creature.
He and his entire crew, the Beast Pirates, on the other hand, were taken down during the events of Wano. Indeed, Luffy and his alliance took them down, but they were one of the most fearsome enemies seen in One Piece so far.
Big Mom
The Captain of the Big Mom Pirates
Big Mom was one of the very strongest members of the Rocks Pirates. Even after the crew’s disbandment, she remained a very relevant character, especially after One Piece’s timeskip. Indeed, Charlotte Linlin was one of the Yonko, at the head of the Big Mom Pirates. She was quite a fearsome pirate with a crew mostly made up of her kids.
She was, however, defeated by Kid and Law in Wano. Her current status is unknown, and fans wonder if she will return to the story or not.
Whitebeard
The Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates
Whitebeard, during his days as a Rocks Pirates, was already a powerhouse. Newgate was only behind Rocks himself in power, especially as he already had his Devil Fruit, the Gura Gura no Mi back then.
After the disbandment, Whitebeard only gained more notoriety. He even became known as the World’s Strongest Man, at the command of one of the strongest pirate crews, the Whitebeard Pirates. Whitebeard died during the Marineford War, and the Whitebeard Pirates eventually disbanded as well following the Grudge War. But they left their marks on the One Piece world.
