This bustling metropolis shines a bright light on what a cutthroat life in a dystopian world could be like, which lends Cyberpunk 2077 to plenty of spin-off potential. Between the original tabletop RPG, the various comic book adaptations, and Netflix’s Edgerunners anime, the series has reached most corners of media.
When it comes to Edgerunners specifically, the announcement of a second season a few months ago presented even more Cyberpunk 2077 content to be excited about. When it comes to the world of Cyberpunk 2077, there are plenty of fascinating lives to dive into. Whether it’s the thrill-filled life of an Edgerunner or the less-than-glamorous daily tasks of a sanitation worker, Night City adds an edge of violence and shock to every profession. The comic spin-off Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team is a great example of the potential of exploring other jobs outside Edgerunner activity.
Getting to see Night City from the perspective of an NCPD officer would be a fascinating angle. A bright-eyed rookie officer on patrol shadowing a corrupt and jaded cop would be a dark path to venture down that is bound to present plenty of moral dilemmas and compelling character development. Corpos have been featured plenty throughout the Cyberpunk 2077 franchise, but a spin-off show that showcased the daily life of a powerful executive may show a different side to this lifestyle. On the flip side, a humble Nomad trying to live a life of peace outside the corporate-controlled world of Night City could be a fascinating change of pace, too.

Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 allows players to choose between three life paths for their characters at the start of the game, but it’s simply the tip of the iceberg. It hardly affects one’s character in any meaningful way, and there is only an incredibly brief glimpse into the character’s life before the events of the main story. It’s unclear if the next Cyberpunk 2077 game will feature a fresh perspective or not, but whether it’s the sequel or another anime spin-off, setting Edgerunner characters aside may be for the best.

Of course, CD Projekt Red has yet to make anything official, but it wouldn’t be as surprising if more content was added to the game after so many unexpected updates.
One popular theory among Cyberpunk 2077 players right now is that the 2.3 update is teasing the arrival of a casino for the next patch.
Between the second season of Edgerunners and the promise of Cyberpunk 2, the future of the franchise is bright, but secretive.
