Crunchyroll is the biggest streaming service for anime series worldwide, and it’s consistently providing fans with new big anime every once in a while. While this year was dominated by the likes of Solo Leveling, The Apothecary Diaries, and Gachiakuta, a new series is now on the rise, and it’s actually a Chinese anime, titled The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess. This new isekai has been the center of quite some hype, and it continues the trend of big-hit Chinese anime that this year has seen. Fans will definitely see more Chinese anime pop in the next few years, just like The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess, Lord of the Mysteries, and even To Be Hero X.
The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess Is One Of Crunchyroll’s Biggest New Hits
- A Korean Manhwa Adapted by a Chinese Studio
- An Isekai That Stands Out from the Rest
The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess is a new anime based on a Korean web novel from 2017, known as Who Made Me a Princess. Even before its anime adaptation dropped, this series was already pretty popular even in Japan. This manhwa was so beloved that it made it into the top 10 “Manga We Want to See Animated” lists in both 2022 and 2023. This is definitely big, as even titles like Solo Leveling didn’t get that back then. Nevertheless, this popular manhwa finally saw an anime adaptation by a Chinese studio known as Colored Pencil Animation. The anime started airing very recently, as early as September 28 in China, and it’s safe to say many fans are already blown away by its quality.
The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess is an isekai and a reincarnation story that follows the path of an aristocratic girl named Athanasia. Despite her high status, Athanasia still has to use her wits to survive due to her father’s contempt for her. This story has fans on the edge of their seats every episode, waiting for more content every week. The only complaint some fans have about the new anime is some of the divergences from the source material.
Chinese Anime Are Taking Over
The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess, Lord of the Mysteries, and To Be Hero X Have All Been Huge
As many fans might have now noticed, anime by Chinese studios are becoming popular, and just this year in 2025, three Chinese anime have stood out from the rest, even creating massive fandoms of their own. The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess is one of them and while it still has a long way to go since its anime just recently started, things are looking good for it.
Fans also can’t forget about Lord of the Mysteries, which many believe was the best anime of the entire year. The anime found so much success that its second season has already been confirmed. And of course, To Be Hero X is another huge Chinese hit that fans can’t wait to see more of in the upcoming years. This is only the beginning, and Chinese anime might offer some real competition soon.
