Mark Sammut grew up on the PlayStation 1 and has been playing games ever since, although he is no longer limited to just Sony consoles. Is gaming too expensive nowadays? It can feel that way, and recent news, such as the Xbox Game Pass price hike, certainly does not help matters. However, if you are willing to be patient and wait for the right moment to strike, you can get most open-world games on deep sales, and these titles tend to offer real bang-for-your-buck. Although some of these games are getting old, they are still generally fantastic and worth playing. More importantly, they are worth a few quid.
The PlayStation Store, Xbox/Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, and Steam constantly have deals on a wide assortment of games, to the point that you really never need to buy a full-price title again (first-party Nintendo games notwithstanding). That said, with so many platforms and discounts going on at the same time, keeping track of everything is plain old exhausting.
