Borderlands 4 is giving away the Savings Savior skin for Rafa, following the completion of the YOLT community challenge. This freebie offers a new incentive for Borderlands 4 players to check out Rafa, one of the new vault hunters introduced in the looter shooter franchise’s latest title.
Starting with Borderlands 2, released in 2012, Gearbox Software has been using its SHiFT rewards program to provide players with codes to unlock various freebies, ranging from in-game loot to character skins. In most cases, the SHiFT codes have given golden keys to players, which are crucial for unlocking golden chests containing valuables. A few days ago, a new community challenge in Borderlands 4 kicked off, with a brand-new Rafa skin revealed as its SHiFT code reward.

Borderlands 4 players can now claim the Savings Savior skin for Rafa using the code “TZXT3-XJXCB-CXBJW-BTTJT-9SK6B” via the in-game SHiFT menu or on the SHiFT website. As stated by the game’s official Twitter account, this reward code, valid through December 31, 2030, was released after players “CRUSHED” the corresponding community challenge by getting 23.4 million second winds—3.4 million more than the required amount—as Rafa from September 26 to September 28. Inspired by his introduction video, titled “YOLT,” the freshly revealed skin derives from the vault hunter’s look in that clip and prominently bears the name of his former employer, Tediore, on the back. As a reminder, Borderlands 4 players must have created a SHiFT account and linked it to their platform before claiming this freebie.
The latest SHiFT code reward seems like an exciting one for fans of Borderlands 4‘s Rafa, one of the most popular new characters included in the game. Besides giving him a change of appearance, the Savings Savior outfit also gives a nod to the exo-soldier’s dark past in the military, offering a peek into his origins. The rawness of the outfit, captured by the blood stains on it, further gives Rafa a unique look that might attract those players who don’t usually pick him in the first-person shooter title.
In the meantime, fans have been eagerly waiting for C4SH, an upcoming addition to Borderlands 4‘s vault hunter lineup. It is the first of two vault hunters planned to roll out as part of their respective paid DLC. Announced at the Tokyo Game Show last week, the Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned story pack is scheduled for launch in Q1 2026. It will be interesting to see how the popularity rankings of the game’s playable characters change after this DLC goes releases.
