Battlefield 6’s Second Open Beta Isn’t off to a Great Start for Some Players

The second open beta weekend for Battlefield 6 is officially live, and it’s already surging in players within its first hour of availability. Unfortunately, some fans are already reporting a myriad of different issues with the highly anticipated second Battlefield 6 open beta, as the shooter is reportedly experiencing long matchmaking times, party system issues, error messages, and much more.

Battlefield 6‘s first open beta weekend was a massive success for publisher EA, as the playtest managed to soar past the all-time concurrent player count of Call of Duty HQ (which includes Black Ops 6, Warzone, and more) on Steam. Almost three years ago, Call of Duty peaked at just over 491,000 concurrent players on Steam. Now the shooter averages around 60,000 concurrent players at its highest daily peak, which Battlefield 6 has managed to absolutely crush in its first open beta period. On the 9th of August, just two days into the playtest, Battlefield 6 managed to hit over 521,000 concurrent players on Steam, making it one of the most played games on the platform.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2 Has Some Big Issues

Those who didn’t get to check out the first playtest will be pleased to know that Battlefield 6‘s second open beta weekend is officially here. On Steam, the beta has already surpassed 274,000 concurrent players, and it’s continuing to climb. However, not everyone appears to be having a great time, as Twitter user Battlefield Bulletin has reported on a handful of serious issues with Weekend 2. According to the user, some fans are experiencing long matchmaking times for the beta, with many being greeted with error messages when attempting to jump into a playlist. The shooter also appears to be having issues with its party system, missing DLSS / DLAA settings, and more.

Given that Battlefield 6 is still in beta, issues are to be expected. Plus, with almost 300,000 players attempting to jump into the game on just one platform alone, long matchmaking times are a given. While DICE appears to be aware of the problems, these are just some of the issues that have been affecting fans during the game’s beta period. During Weekend 1, some players were reporting a strange problem with Battlefield 6‘s anti-cheat software, as the system was reportedly forcing players to uninstall Valorant in order to jump into the beta.

Battlefield 6 has a sliding problem

It looks like the game’s anti-cheat still needs some tweaking before the game’s full release on October 10, as the first beta weekend for Battlefield 6 was also riddled with cheaters. Less than 24 hours into Weekend 1, players were reportedly running into cheaters who were already using wallhacks in multiplayer matches. Thankfully, EA says its Javelin Anticheat has prevented 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. The studio also said that players had reported more than 44,000 potential cheaters on day one of the beta.
