The first weekend of Battlefield 6‘s open beta was a massive success, as the first-person shooter attracted an impressive number of players. Anticipation for Battlefield 6 has been mounting since it was revealed at the end of July, and now that gamers have gotten the first taste of what to expect, the upcoming second weekend is also bound to attract high player numbers, too.
Open beta participants got to see a sneak peek at some of Battlefield 6‘s maps and modes, but that isn’t all. An Easter egg has already been discovered before the game even launches, and it has quickly become an intriguing mystery. Battlefield 6‘s second beta weekend is only a few hours away, and once it’s here, players can jump at the chance to try and decipher what the Easter egg’s message is.
Battlefield 6’s Open Beta Easter Egg Explained
A Curious Mystery Found in Liberation Peak
Liberation Peak is one of the three maps that were featured in the first open beta weekend, and it’s set to return during the second. A boombox can be found on the map that prompts players to interact with it. After doing so, a message written in Cyrillic characters appears on the concrete wall next to it. Players have been trying to decipher this Battlefield 6 message, and this weekend offers an even better chance to dive into the mystery.
As of now, Battlefield 6 is expected to be released on October 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Players Have Already Unlocked Some Clues
This Easter egg has received a solid amount of attention on Reddit, as Battlefield 6 players have been eager to figure out exactly what the peculiar message means. Reddit user AchUndWeh has potentially translated the Cyrillic, stating that it “appears to be Tajik, not Russian.” Their rough translation leads to these locations:
- Khujand-Yaghnob – 32:21
- Pomir Dushanbe – 23:18
- Rasht-Khujand – 15:41
- Pomir Yaghnob – 33:19
There are already plenty of theories surrounding what these locations could mean. While some believe that these locations hint at campaign-specific POIs, other theories suggest that they are coordinates that lead to other radios. Fellow player uKGMAN1986 has even claimed that they have already seen multiple radios, suggesting, “I bet we have to activate them in order.” Right now, there’s no way to know for sure what Battlefield 6 has in store when it comes to Easter eggs, but this strange message definitely leads one to believe that hidden gems like these radios are just the tip of the iceberg.
Even more interesting, there are further claims that Liberation Peak is not the only map these radios can be found on. Battlefield 6‘s gameplay is great in its own right, but when the second open beta weekend launches, this Easter egg could quickly attract the attention of a lot of players.
Weekend 2 of Battlefield 6‘s open beta will see the return of all Weekend 1 modes, with the addition of Rush and Squad Deathmatch.
How Long Does Battlefield 6’s Second Open Beta Weekend Last?
Weekend 2 will be longer than the first one, and while the three past maps are set to return, Empire State will be added to the mix, as well. It will be interesting to see if the Empire State map harbors its own secret radio, and if so, there’s hopefully a secret message attached. The wait for Battlefield 6‘s next round of open beta is right around the corner, so for players who love an edge of mystery and puzzles, keeping an eye out for Liberation Peak’s radio Easter egg could add an extra layer to the experience.
