A Battlefield 6 player has discovered an incredibly useful trick that makes sniping a lot easier. For players who are new to the series, sniping in Battlefield 6 can feel much harder than other first-person shooters such as Call of Duty, but one player is making use of the Range Finder attachment and a simple key bind in order to alleviate some of the difficulty that comes with sniping on large-scale modes such as Conquest or Breakthrough.
After finding a monumental amount of success in its first week, many are wondering if this could be the year that Battlefield 6 outpaces Call of Duty in terms of sales. The latest entry in the series is already off to a stellar start, peaking at more than 747,000 concurrent players on Steam alone, while also reportedly selling over 7 million copies in just five days. As for Call of Duty, developer Treyarch Studios is gearing up to launch Black Ops 7 on November 14 after an incredibly successful beta test. But with FPS fans already hooked on Battlefield 6, the studio is going to need to pull out all the stops if it wants to remain on top.
Battlefield 6 Player Discovers Handy Sniping Trick
With a large portion of Call of Duty players likely jumping into the Battlefield franchise for the very first time thanks to Battlefield 6, it’s no surprise that some are struggling to get to grips with sniping. However, content creator Stone Mountain has discovered a neat trick that will alleviate much of the difficulty when it comes to sniping. As seen in the post below, the YouTuber discovers that by equipping the Range Finder attachment on the M2010 ESR and then rebinding it to the same control that is used to fire, it will perfectly zero the scope to the target every single time.
For those who might be unaware, the Range Finder attachment in Battlefield 6 is a must for all snipers. The in-game description for the attachment doesn’t do a great job at explaining its purpose, but it is very simple to use. Once attached, players will notice a bulky box on the side of their sniper; this is the Range Finder. Once in a match, players simply need to aim down their sights, then hold either down on the d-pad, or B for keyboard users, and the zero distance in the bottom right of the screen will match the distance of your target. It makes sniping much easier as it zeroes the scope, but by making use of Stone Mountain’s trick, it can become even easier as firing and zeroing the scope to the correct distance becomes one fluid action.
It’s unclear if this is something DICE would rather players not be able to do, which means it could be patched in a future update. The studio is currently addressing ongoing issues with the game, such as hit registration problems and adjustments to match length in modes such as Conquest. However, there are now less than two weeks left to go until Battlefield 6 Season 1 launches, which will bring with it a brand new map, weapons, and more. The season will be split into three major content updates, with the first arriving on October 28, followed by another on November 18 and then a third on December 9.
