Following a plethora of complaints from the Battlefield 6 community in regards to slow progression and XP farms, DICE has now released a new statement and confirmed that a new update is on the way to address both issues. The two problems go hand in hand, as the slow progression in Battlefield 6 has led many fans to create and host XP farms on the game’s community servers, but DICE has now outlined its plans to combat both problems in a new patch within the next week.
Although the latest entry in the Battlefield franchise is off to a record-breaking start, Battlefield 6‘s launch week hasn’t been without its issues. Slow progression and XP farms appear to be next on the list of problems for DICE to combat in a new update, which will come after numerous other adjustments and fixes based on player feedback. One of the most prominent issues recently addressed by the studio was to weapon bloom, as players were unhappy with how the game’s bullet dispersion was handled. A few tweaks have put the feature in a much better spot, and DICE has now seemingly turned its attention to the next big issue.
Battlefield 6 Will Increase Progression Speeds and Nerf XP Farms
Battlefield 6‘s XP farms have been incredibly popular ever since the game launched on October 10, and it’s mainly due to just how slow progression is. Thankfully, DICE has released a new statement and confirmed some big changes are on the way. A new update is being planned for next week, which will increase match completion and daily bonus XP by 10% and 40%, respectively. The XP needed to unlock the first 20 attachment ranks is also being reduced, and assignments that required career ranks 20, 23, and 26 to begin will now require career ranks 10, 15, and 20, respectively.
This isn’t the only issue DICE plans to address with the next Battlefield 6 update, either, as it also discusses the rampant XP farms. According to the studio, the “maximum capacity” error on community servers is directly tied to players creating experiences solely to earn XP, inflate player stats, and earn special accolades through defeating bots. “We are developing adjustments that are intended to diminish the number of XP farms taking up server space while further emphasizing playing with friends on both custom and verified experiences,” DICE said in a new statement. The studio explained that implementing this change will require backend maintenance. Once the update is live, players will need to republish their experiences before they can create an active server.
DICE says the update is planned to go live within the next week, but could potentially be released sooner depending on testing and verification. There also appear to be further adjustments to Battlefield 6‘s weapon bloom problems in the works, too, as the studio says it has seen concerns in other areas of the game, including visibility, weapon bloom, vehicles not spawning, and more. Further details on these issues will be shared once updates are determined, but DICE encourages players to continue providing the studio with feedback.
