There are 10 Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei, and each of them requires Atsu to aid her Wolf companion in fighting and killing Saiko’s Outlaws, who have been tasked by Lord Saiko to purge Ezo of wolves. Atsu can find her Wolf at the Wolf Dens scattered around Ezo, and together, they can bring vengeance to their home. Each Wolf Den will further solidify the bond between woman and beast, and grant players a unique skill point to invest in the Wolf’s abilities, thus making her more useful in combat. Players can find the locations of each Wolf Den in Ghost of Yotei below to ensure that Atsu and the Wolf become as close as Atsu and her sword.
All Yotei Grasslands Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei
There are 2 Wolf Dens that players can find in Yotei Grasslands, the starting area of Ezo:
1 – Green Hill Wolf Den
Players can venture to the south area of Lake Shikotsu, just past Atsu’s Home, to find this Wolf Den on a small rock with a tree on top. To trigger a cutscene with the Wolf, simply approach the corpses and examine them with R2. This will then trigger a chase where you need to follow the Wolf on your horse to reach an enemy camp and kill them all.
2 – Great Mountain Wolf Den
Follow north west of the Nupur River, which is upstream from Atsu’s Home. To the left of the Crow’s Nest Watchtower is another Wolf Den, found again underneath a tree with a large rock atop the den. There’s another body here to be examined, and upon doing so, a visit from the snarling Wolf will appear, and it’s time to follow the Wolf to the Outlaw Camp and kill them for their transgressions against the other wolves.
All Ishikari Plain Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei
The Ishikari Plain has 2 Wolf Dens, and players can venture through this western area on their hunt for The Oni:
3 – Dying Fire Wolf Den
Follow the north east river through Horokanai Bluffs to reach teh Nakagoya Spring. Just above the “Y” and “A” of “Nakogoya” is the next Wolf Den. Like previous Wolf Dens, players will need to examine the corpses present outside to trigger a cutscene with the Wolf, and then follow her to another site of killers that need killing.
4 – Old Wound Wolf Den
Players can head north of Ishikari Plain, past the Stone Jaw Coast, to follow the Rumoi River. To the west of the Rumoi River, players will find another Wolf Den by a dead tree, except this one is being attacked by Oni Raiders. The Raiders are throwing fire bombs at the Wolf Den, so be sure to kill them so that the Wolf can appear. Doing so will cause Atsu to follow the Wolf on her horse and begin another attack on the trappers.
All Tokachi Range Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei
Tokachi Range has 2 Wolf Dens, and this location is a short journey north of the Yotei Grasslands:
5 – Hunter’s Watch Wolf Den
Head north into the Ohara Plains, where, between the “A” and “P” of “Ohara Plains”, players will be able to find the rock with a tree planted atop. This area is swarming with enemies, so kill them to get the Wolf to come out of hiding from the den.
6 – Howling Fields Wolf Den
Follow north of the Niikappu River until you reach the Saru Plains, then continue north to find the Boar’s Eye Cave. On the map, and just before the “E” and “C” of “Boar’s Eye Cave”, players can find a familiar rock structure that contains another Wolf Den. Players must then examine the corpses to bring out the Wolf, and then follow it to the destination to kill the trappers. This one works a tad differently, as players must open the cages themselves to free the wolves, and then begin a larger fight with a wolf pack against the trappers.
All Nayoro Wilds Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei
There’s just 1 Wolf Den in the Nayoro Wilds, and it’s on the continued path north of Tokachi Range:
7 – White Scars Wolf Den
Follow the river north past Nayoro Falls and into Kankan Creek, where just above the first “N” in “Kankan”, you’ll find the rock structure that harbors another Wolf Den. The structure is the same as before, as you simply need to approach the entrance of the Wolf Den to bring forth a familiar friend and get to killing, but this time you’re allied with a bear!
All Teshio Ridge Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei
Teshio Ridge has 2 Wolf Dens, and it is the furthest north section of Ezo, and players can venture to this location via a boat in their quest for The Kitsune.
8 – Cold Lake Wolf Den
After entering the snowy north region of Ezo, Teshio Ridge, you’ll want to head through the north west path through the tundra to Sarobetsu Lake, which holds an Inn on a beautiful ice lake. From the Inn, head east through the mountain range to find the Wolf Den by a cliff’s edge, and prepare for another round of killing with the Wolf. This Wolf Den requires speed, as you’re fighting in a blizzard that drains your health, so make sure you’re fighting near the campfire.
9 – Biting Wind Wolf Den
Continuing further north through the Teshio Ridge, you’ll be want to venture past the Sentinel Forest, where, between this location and before the Hakodake Mountains, you’ll come across a Wolf Den by the ridge. If you’re struggling to find the Wolf Den, simply use the location pictured above, wait for a golden bird to guide you to the right place, and then get ready to help the Wolf free more of its kin. Do be careful, as there’s an ambush waiting for you at the wolf’s cage.
All Oshima Coast Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei
Oshima Coast has just 1 Wolf Den, and this area will only be accessible after you have completed your previous hunts for The Oni and The Kitsune, and follow on from The Dragon & The Spider:
10 – Waterfall Wolf Den
For this Wolf Den, you’ll need to travel to the far east region of Oshima Coast. That’s far past Atago Rice Fields and Castle Matsumae. You’ll want to travel even further beyond the Saito Artillery Outpost, where you’ll eventually find a waterfall that you can climb. At the top is another Wolf Den filled with Saito Outlaw corpses, and the final test of companionship between Atsu and the Wolf.
After completing all 10 Wolf Dens, you’ll earn the Wolves of Ezo, which is a Bronze Trophy for your collection. You will also earn The Wolf Pack Mask.
