Genshin Impact has officially revealed Nefer, the boss of the Curatorium of Secrets, as a 5-Star Dendro Catalyst coming in Version 6.1. With Version 6.0 underway, Genshin Impact has opened the doors of Nod-Krai to the Traveler. Located on the southern borders of Snezhnaya, individuals and factions from all over Teyvat gather in Nod-Krai. Version 6.0 introduced players to a vibrant cast, but only added three to the list of playable characters: Lauma, Flins, and Aino.
Flins and Aino are due to debut in the second half of Version 6.0, but Lauma is currently available on the Event Banners. She is a 5-Star Dendro Catalyst who buffs Lunar-Bloom and Dendro reactions. While Lauma is a versatile support character in Genshin Impact, players should also consider her synergy with the upcoming Nefer.
Genshin Impact: Nefer
- Rarity: 5-Star
- Gender: Female
- Element: Dendro
- Weapon: Catalyst
- Constellation: Ludus Latrunculorum
Nefer will be the sole character of Version 6.1, officially announced by Genshin Impact across social media. She will be a Lunar-Bloom hypercarry, allowing Lauma to use the other half of her support kit. Much like Wriothesley, Nefer in Genshin Impact will be a Catalyst who fights at melee range, but her gameplay style is primarily compared to Skirk. She generates resources by triggering Lunar-Bloom reactions, and spends them via Charged Attacks enhanced by her Elemental Skill.
An important thing to keep in mind is Nefer’s over-reliance on Lauma in Genshin Impact. Much like Escoffier for Skirk, there is a huge difference in power between a Nefer team without a Lauma and a Nefer team with Lauma. As such, it is important for Genshin Impact players to obtain both characters if they intend to build a premium team for Nefer. This trend has been critiqued since the emergence of Citlali and Mavuika, but it would seem that the developers are still keen to lean into it.
Thankfully, Version 6.0 is abundant in Primogems, and even free-to-play accounts will be able to obtain over a hundred Intertwined Wishes. Assuming players saved up on their Primogems in Genshin Impact before Nod-Krai, they should be able to guarantee both 5-Star characters by the start of November. However, given that Columbina is expected to join the playable cast in Version 6.3, players should keep an eye out for how the Moon Maiden would fit a premium Nefer team. Whereas Nefer and Lauma form a powerful core, the other two slots have yet to crystallize – with Yelan, Xinqiu, Aino, Nahida, Baizhu, and Zhongli all viable options. Version 6.1 is set to launch on October 22, 2025.
