Tools in Hollow Knight: Silksong can change the outcome of enemy encounters or challenging boss fights. Most of the tools in the game have really useful qualities that will come in handy in different situations. The Magnetite Dice is a Yellow Tool that players can acquire throughout the game, but the method of acquiring it may change depending on how far they have progressed in the story. The guide below offers information on the purpose of the Dice and how to easily obtain it in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
How to Get Magnetite Dice in Silksong
To get the Magnetite Dice, players must make their way to the Blasted Steps, which can be accessed after acquiring the Wall Jump ability in Shellwood and going to the top left part of the map. Once you reach the area, you need to go through the platforming section and make your way up to reach the Bellway Station. After interacting with the bench, head left and down to find a passage leading to Lumble the Lucky. You can talk to him, and he will ask you to play a game of dice with him. This game is purely random, and winning grants you 4 Rosaries, while a loss will set you back 4 Rosaries.
The key to winning the Tool is to play and win 40 Rosaries from Lumble. However, the catch is that you need to get 10 wins, but losses will set you back. Players can try out their luck and complete the game themselves, but given how it is purely reliant on luck, this can take up to an hour. Luckily, there is a way to cheese through this while also ensuring you win.
First, make sure you have rested at the nearby bench and play with Lumble until you have a 16-20 Rosaries lead. Once you have done that, simply Save and Quit, and you will be teleported back to the bench. Then, go back over to Lumble, and if you lose 3 times consecutively, quit the game without saving. This makes it so you will be back at that 16-20 Rosaries mark. Keep saving your progress once every 12 Rosaries gained, and you should get the Dice.
The second method to acquire the Dice involves completing the first Act and reaching the Coral Chambers inside the Citadel. You can then revisit Lumble the Lucky only to find him lying dead. You can interact with the item near him, which is the Dice.
What Does the Magnetite Dice Do in Silksong?
The Magnetite Dice‘s description states that it is believed to bring luck to the wearer. Even though this description can be a little vague, equipping it and trying it in combat will give you some idea of what it does. The tool makes it so that there is a small chance that an attack that would hit and deal damage to you will not deal any damage.
You might think that this tool is overpowered, but the emphasis should be on the low chance. The chances of the effect triggering are very low. Even though it can sometimes save you in situations where you would be dead otherwise, you will not find it useful all the time. The tool is Yellow, and with how few offensive tools you have for that color, this is a must-equip for boss fights or enemy encounters.
