First Pokemon LEGO Set Leak Includes Unusual Detail

The first LEGO sets from the company’s recently announced Pokemon collaboration will all reportedly be rated for ages 18 and up. That’s according to a newly emerged leak, which also alleges one other unusual detail about the upcoming LEGO sets.

LEGO officially announced its Pokemon collaboration in March 2025. The company has so far shared few details about the initiative, having only said that its first sets will hit the market sometime in 2026. The teaser video that accompanied the announcement included a LEGO rendition of a Pikachu tail. The toy manufacturer also suggested that the partnership is planned to produce multiple sets, albeit without outright committing to this.

At Least 6 Pokemon LEGO Sets Are Reportedly In the Works

While this radio silence continues for the fifth month in a row, some concrete information about the upcoming Pokemon collaboration has just emerged via reliable LEGO leaker Jedi JAC Penguin, as originally spotted by Reddit user CarterBricks04. The source claims at least half a dozen Pokemon LEGO products are currently in the works, having identified the set numbers and universal product codes of two of them: 72151 (UPC 673419424912) and 72152 (UPC 673419424929), supposedly planned to retail for $59.99 and $199.99, respectively. Both are said to be rated 18+.

While Pokemon fans may be starting to skew older nowadays, the core franchise still aims to appeal to young audiences. In that context, the claim that the debut LEGO sets from the upcoming partnership will carry an 18+ age rating appears somewhat unexpected. The rating seems even more unusual alongside the $59.99 price tag reportedly attached to set 72151. At that price point, the set is likely to be relatively small—numbering between 400 and 700 pieces—making it unlikely to feature the complex builds typically associated with LEGO’s adult-targeted products.

Whatever set 72152 is, its leaked $199.99 price point has fueled fan speculation that it’s going to center on a large, display-worthy rendition of a single Pokemon. Such an adult-only product based on a kid-friendly IP would be far from unprecedented; even just looking at the franchises (partially) owned by Nintendo, LEGO did the $270 The Mighty Bowser set in 2022. Both of the upcoming sets are reportedly planned for release in early 2026.

Jedi JAC Penguin has also identified one other Pokemon product currently in the works at LEGO, supposedly carrying set number 72153, albeit without providing any other information about it. Three additional Pokemon LEGO sets are said to be planned as well, with all of them loosely targeting a winter release window, suggesting a launch in the January–March 2026 period. The upcoming partnership will mark LEGO’s first-ever Pokemon products. Apart from Pikachu, Charizard is among the most likely candidates to feature in the initial lineup, based on its fan-favorite status and The Pokemon Company’s historical merchandising practices.
