The first-ever Fortnite event occurred in Chapter 1 Season 4 when the Visitor’s rocket launched into the atmosphere, causing a rift to emerge from the sky, which broke new ground in the gaming space for what could happen in a game in real-time for all to witness, and for the potential that this Battle Royale could have. To celebrate such a monumental occasion, the Rocket Launch event returns with Blast Off, an identical event that takes place in Fortnite OG on July 26, 2 PM ET. However, some fans might have missed the Fortnite live event, so they can check out below everything that occurred.

What Happened in the Fortnite Blast Off Rocket Launch Live Event?
Landing on the Visitor’s lair above Snobby Shores, players were met with a safe zone where they could not eliminate each other, and the storm cloud would never form. In this area, players were allowed to wait for the event to begin, which saw the final countdown of the rocket emerge. However, things took a turn when a red butterfly fused itself with the rocket. Suddenly, the rocket lifts up, and a part detaches to land in Anarchy Acres. What’s left of the rocket sets course for Tilted Towers in preparation to detonate, but ultimately rifts out of control around the map until it crashes into the sky, creating a red rift that will slowly become larger and larger.
While the Blast Off event on July 26, 2025, was identical to the same event on June 30, 2018, in Chapter 1 Season 4, the addition of the red butterfly and red rift was all new. Interestingly, there was a complete lack of dialogue from the Visitor in this event, who, in the original, says, “Zero Point Oscillator on, Setting coordinates. Engaging quantum field accelerator.” Could Fortnite be bringing back the Seven in unexpected ways? Who knows!
