2XKO is a tag fighting game by Riot Games. Since it’s a 2v2 fighter, each match has you picking two champions to switch between, pulling off combos, and defending against your opponent in fast-paced combat. To secure the win, you need to take down both enemy champions in two out of three rounds, which makes having a strong lineup on your side essential.
There’s already a decent roster of cool League of Legends champions available to choose from. This guide covers all the characters currently in 2XKO and explains how to unlock them, whether playing solo or teaming up as a duo.
How to Unlock Characters in 2XKO
There are about 11 champions in the early access of 2XKO, and more are expected to join later. Each hero comes with a big moveset that includes specials, supers (ultimates), unique moves, and assists. You can check out all their moves in their Champion Profile. They also have cool skins, taunts, and finishers to make things more fun.
To unlock a character in 2XKO, you’ll need one of the following:
KO Points are the premium currency and can only be bought from the in-game store. Champion Tokens, on the other hand, are mostly paid as well, but you can still get a few for free by completing the Play First Fight and 12 First Steps lessons.
For free-to-play players, the best way to get champions is by saving Green Credits. You can earn them through daily and weekly missions or casual matches. Winning one casual match gives you 20 Green Credits, so steady playtime can get you new champions without spending money. Of course, that does mean a lot of grinding.
A good tip here is to choose carefully which characters you’ll use your free Champion Tokens on.

Ahri – The Nine-Tailed Fox
Ahri is the free character you unlock after finishing the tutorial in 2XKO. She’s a fox in a human-like form, and her specials match that theme with moves like Foxfire Blast, Wild Flares, and Spirit Rush.
Like a clever fox, she uses the Orb of Deception as her ultimate attack, with Hyper Spirit Rush and Charm as her other two supers. Her combo attacks land real heavy, and her Hyper Spirit Rush Assist deals some of the highest damage in her kit. Her Archetype is Rushdown, making her perfect for fast, aggressive play.

Blitzcrank – The Great Steam Golem
Blitzcrank is a locked champion. He’s a metal golem who was originally built to clean up trash, but as a fighter, he puts those mechanical powers to good use. His moves include Rocket Grab, Rocket Punch, and Spinning Turbine, making him a reliable pick for close-range brawls.
His supers are OP as well; Static Field lets him leap into the air and unleash a huge electric blast, while Trash Compactor slams enemies from above. His assist moves are great, with Static Field Assist easily being the strongest in our experience. Plus, his archetype is Grappler.

His ultimates are exceptional, with Snax Time doing big damage. He’s also great at combos, blocking attacks for your main character, and striking back with Glacial Fissure Assist. A free League of Legends character who’s good for mid-range combat. He fights with a fantastic sword and uses moves like Apprehend, Coward’s Bane, and Salted Earth to keep enemies under pressure.
His supers are really strong, including Noxian Revolution, Noxian Might, and Noxian Guillotine. His assists are on the lighter side, but Noxian Might Assist is the best one of the bunch. His archetype is All-Rounder, making him solid at both offense and defense.

Illaoi is another free fighter you get to play after the tutorial. She’s an ancient powerhouse who calls on kraken tentacles to smash enemies and swings a big totem to strike up close. For close-range fights, moves like Faith in Motion, Guiding Hand, and Serpent’s Tongue work best, while Prayer in Stagnation and From the Depths hit strong from a distance.
Her supers are insane, with Test of Spirit dealing massive damage. She’s also a solid pick as a side fighter, with Wrath of Nagakabouros Assist cracking down hard. Like Braum, her archetype is Bruiser.

His ultimates also involve shooting darts and dropping mushroom bombs when opponents least expect it. He’s a good option as a tag team partner, thanks to his Noxious Sweeper Assist. His archetype is Trap.

VI – The Piltover Enforcer
Vi is a locked champion whose whole thing is punching enemies from all kinds of angles. Her regular moves pack a punch as well, like Vault Breaker and Denting Blows. Aside from physical attacks, she can punch the ground too, sending out Hextech energy that targets foes, like in her Hyper Crater Maker ult.
In Cease and Desist ult, she throws a complete beatdown. That said, as a side fighter, she’s a recommended choice due to being a Rushdown archetype and also a heavy damage dealer.
