Battlefield 6 has officially launched, but some players have had significant difficulty in accessing the game, and EA is now trying to make up for the headaches. Some users who experienced EA App outages will be compensated for their trouble within Battlefield 6.
EA is hoping that Battlefield 6 will ultimately have 100 million players, and its big launch day is the first step of achieving that goal. However, as with many online games, the infrastructure seemed to struggle with the crush of players trying to access the game all at once. In addition to experiencing long server queues, some had problems getting into Battlefield 6 at all due to an issue with the EA App, which the publisher is now trying to make up for.
EA Issues Apology and Compensation Following Launcher Problems
In the early hours of trying to play the game, Battlefield 6 players complained about the EA App, stating that the launcher was telling them that they didn’t yet own the game, and thus couldn’t play. The developers have since patched this problem, so players should no longer be stuck on the EA App. However, they’re going a step further by compensating Battlefield 6 players with some goodies. Those who were impacted will receive 12 Hardware and 12 Career 60-minute Boosters, which will arrive during the weekend to players’ in-game inboxes.
What players may like even more is that the game will be giving impacted players full access to a seasonal Battle Pass. Keeping in mind that some of those who were unable to access the game due to this glitch already have access to that pass, those who purchased the Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6 will be given a Season 2 full Battle Pass for free. While some players are still frustrated at these issues having emerged at all, many players responding to the notice have taken it well, expressing gratitude that a relatively short-lived issue like this is being taken so seriously.
Unfortunately, EA App difficulties and server queues weren’t the only problems Battlefield 6 faced at launch. Some players reported that they didn’t get the in-game rewards they expected from ordering the Phantom Edition or playing the Open Beta. However, the game seems to be off to a good start in terms of attracting players, with over 700,000 concurrent players logging in to check out Battlefield 6 on Steam the very first day. Getting to the goal of 100 million will mean keeping those players happy and ensuring that more are drawn in, and EA seems to be taking that seriously with these efforts to compensate players.
