Diablo 4 just rolled out a new update on October 7 that includes balance changes to certain Chaos Powers and Perks, improvements to Infernal Hordes, and fixes for bugs like the one plaguing the Druid’s Aspect of the Wildrage. The first post-launch update for Diablo 4 Season 10, Infernal Chaos, is now live in game right now.
On September 23, Diablo 4 kicked off Season 10 with a bang. Titled Infernal Chaos, this update brought both permanent changes to the game in the form of improvements to Infernal Hordes, and seasonal content like Chaos Rifts, Powers, and Armor, questlines, and the Diablo 4 x StarCraft collaboration event.
Now, Diablo 4 has officially released its first post-launch update for Season 10. This update is comparatively small, but it still addresses a few under- and over-performing Chaos Powers and Perks. The Convocation of Spirits and A Beast Cornered Chaos Powers have received improvements that should make them stronger and more consistent, and Diablo 4 Chaos Perks like Barbarian’s Single-Minded Fury and Rogue’s Unpredictable Alchemy, Hit and Run, and Orphan Maker all received buffs. Likewise, Sorcerers’ Crackling Energy no longer gets picked up from Convulsions if full on Crackling Energy charges, which should prevent players from running out of the resource early with high attack speed.
There are a few core gameplay improvements in this patch, too. The range of Soulspires has been increased, and monsters now ambush characters inside Infernal Hordes more often to make the events feel more dangerous and chaotic. What’s more, these ambushes will occur even more frequently with the Ambushing Hellbourne Infernal Offer, ensuring Infernal Hordes in Diablo 4 will be swarming with foes.
The vast majority of this update consisted of bug fixes. Though over a dozen glitches have been resolved, one of the most notable ones caused Diablo 4 to diable the Druids’ Aspect of the Wildrage. This bug, which let the poison creeper stack damage indefinitely when used in conjunction to this Aspect, has officially been resolved with minimal impact to the popular summoning Druid builds, and can now be used once more.
With Season 10 now well underway, fans have essentially come to the end of the 2025 roadmap for Diablo 4. That said, a new expansion is expected to release next year, and content creators who have been able to see what Diablo 4 is working on have high hopes for the game’s future. It is all in the realm of speculation at present, but it seems like 2026 is going to be huge for Sanctuary.
