As Early Access begins for Riot Games’ fighter game set in the League of Legends universe, many players are wondering what Champion Tokens do and how to get more Champion Tokens in 2XKO. This guide will set players on the right path, helping them unlock as many champions as possible.
What Are Champion Tokens In 2XKO?
Champion Tokens in 2XKO are the small pink icons that can only be seen when players go to the Champions tab. They cannot be seen in the top right corner where KO Points and Credits are displayed, nor anywhere else.
In terms of what Champion Tokens do in 2XKO, they unlock champions to play as, including other items in the bundle. At the launch of 2XKO’s early access, the following champions are locked, meaning players will need 5 Tokens to unlock them all:
- Blitzcrank
- Jinx
- Teemo
- Vi
- Warwick
Champions can also be unlocked with 10,000 Credits gained from playing matches and completing missions, or with 1000 KO Points, which is a virtual currency gained by spending real money.
Champion Bundles
In a Champion Bundle, players will unlock the following items for 1 Champion Token.
How To Get More Champion Tokens In 2XKO?
There are a couple of ways to get more Champion Tokens in 2XKO, with a few being available for free at the start of each player’s journey.
Complete The First Steps Missions For 1 Champion Token
The second tab from the left is for Progression. Here, players will see Daily and Weekly Missions. However, if they click ‘View All Missions’ in the bottom left, they will be able to see their First Steps Missions.
Use the buttons at the bottom to cycle to the second page. It’s easy to miss these.
By completing all 12 simple objectives, they will be rewarded with 1 Champion Token. In fact, one objective is to spend the free Champion Token that all players start with.
Complete The First Fight Tutorial For 1 Champion Token
The second-to-last tab depicted by a scholar’s hat is called Learn. There are a few tutorials here, including Play First Fight.
Completing Play First Fight will reward players with 1 Champion Token.
Purchase Starter Editions For Multiple Champion Tokens
By going to the in-game store, players should see a tab for Starter Editions. Here, there are three bundles to choose from, with the first offering 4 Champion Tokens, and the others offering 8. This is in addition to KO Points for cosmetics and other goodies.
While 8 Champion Tokens might seem like overkill with there currently only being 5 champions to unlock, it’s worth remembering that more League of Legends champions will be released in 2XKO, down the line.
