Gamers have come together to discuss the state of Black Widow in Marvel Rivals, with some suggesting that NetEase Games should have included her “Widow Bites,” which are wrist weapons, in her ability kit. Marvel Rivals is currently nearing the middle of Season 4, which introduced the Vanguard Angela to the popular hero shooter’s ever-expanding roster.
NetEase Games is currently preparing to release its major Season 4.5 update on October 10, which will bring Daredevil to Marvel Rivals as a Duelist. The hero will primarily focus on melee combat, engaging with a single target as he unleashes a series of devastating blows. In addition to receiving a new hero, players can look forward to a steady stream of content throughout the second half of Season 4. According to a recent roadmap shared by the developers, gamers will be able to experience a whole new mystery game mode on October 24. Players may also be pleased to learn that NetEase Games will be releasing new Halloween-themed skins near the end of October.
Marvel Rivals Players Feel Black Widow’s Ability Kit Is ‘Empty’
In a recent post on Reddit, Impossible-Delay-708 stated that they feel the lack of “Widow Bites” in Black Widow’s ability kit feels like a missed opportunity, especially since they believe the Duelist’s ability kit is currently lacking. Impossible-Delay-708 even shared several images of Black Widow’s wrist weapons in everything from the comics to the MCU. While Black Widow is one of Marvel Rivals‘ Duelists, it’s an open secret that many people find her ability kit to be somewhat weak when compared to powerhouse characters like Moon Knight and Iron Fist. While it’s certainly possible for skilled Marvel Rivals players to excel with Black Widow, a lot of players have expressed frustration with her current damage potential.
In the comments of the post, one person claimed that NetEase Games really “fumbled” Black Widow in Marvel Rivals. Meanwhile, another player complained about her lack of support since the game’s launch in December 2024. They claimed that the Duelist hasn’t received enough skins, balance changes, or reworks to help boost her performance within the game’s large roster.
While many gamers are frustrated with the state of Black Widow, a lot of players seem to be excited about Marvel Rivals’ upcoming update on October 10. It may not fix the issues with Black Widow, but many people who enjoy playing as Duelists seem to be excited about the addition of another melee-focused DPS hero. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
