Pokemon GO has revealed its plans for the spooky season, announcing what’s in the works for 2025’s Halloween event. Pokemon GO players will be able to earn encounters, items, Stardust, and discover some Pokemon that have never been available in the mobile title before.
Pokemon GO regularly releases new updates, but its seasonal updates tend to be some of the most exciting ones for the community. They frequently bring brand-new Pokemon or seasonal variants of Pokemon, like Trick or Treat Pikachu, or Froakie wearing a witch hat.
Pokemon GO Halloween 2025 Part 1
Now, Pokemon GO has announced what players can expect from the first part of its Halloween 2025 event. Ghost-type Pokemon fans will likely be excited to learn that Poltchageist and Sinistcha, the Matcha Pokemon, will be appearing in Pokemon GO for the first time. Players will also be able to encounter a Shiny Sinistea. In honor of the addition of the tea-themed Pokemon, players will be able to purchase a Poltchageist Hat for their player avatar, and a Teatime Pose if they upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe. The GO Pass: Halloween 2025 will also give players bonuses for unlocking its Tiers, with extra Catch Candy in Tier 1, an increased chance for trainers over level 30 to get Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Poke Ball throws, and Tier 3 increases Candy for transfers, plus an increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to get Candy XL for transferring Pokemon.
In addition to the tea Pokemon, players can expect to see encounters with Pokemon like Zorua or Shiny Zorua, Hisuian Zorua, and Greavard. Galarian Yamask, Sinistea, and Poltchageist will be featured in One-Star Raids, while Three-Star Raids will feature Alolan Marowak, Hisuian Typhlosion, and Hisuian Samurott. Shadow Raids will feature Shadow Yamask and Shadow Phantump. Players will also be able to encounter Sableye, Yamask, Zorua, Hisuian Zorua, Litwick, Vullaby, Phantump, and Spiritomb by completing Field Research Tasks. Certain Field Research tasks will also give players Mega Energy for Gengar, Houndoom, Sableye, Banette, and Absol.
When the Halloween Part 1 event kicks off in Pokemon GO, players will also be able to experience a remix of the Lavender Town theme. Pokemon encounters, PokeStops, and Gyms will all be decorated in the spirit of Halloween. Part 1 of the event begins on October 21 at 10 am local time, and runs until October 27 at the same time.
