
Special Places are unique locations in Ghost of Yotei that are not marked on the map. Therefore, players need to locate them by exploring, and then bow in front of them to see a unique effect take place. There are countless Special Places in Ghost of Yotei, and while each of them provides a closer bond with nature, players only need to locate 10 of them in total to get the Speaking with the Land trophy. As such, we’ve decided to list the easiest Special Places to find in Ghost of Yotei to get the Speaking with the Land trophy.
You can interact with the Special Place by swiping Down on the Touch Pad to Bow. Doing so will trigger a special environmental effect to confirm that you have completed the Special Place.
All Yotei Grasslands Special Places in Ghost of Yotei
1 – Lake Shitkotsu
At your Home in the Yotei Grasslands, venture southeast, where you’ll come across Lake Shitkotsu. To the very east part of this lake is a cliff overlooking Mount Yotei. You can find the Special Place beside a small tree.
2 – Sarubetsu River
Head north of the Yotei Grasslands and follow the Sarubetsu River upstream until you come across a split in the river. You’ll see a yellow tree atop a rock, and the Special Place sign is located just below it.
3 – Southern Coast
Head southwest of the Yotei Grasslands towards the shore, where you can drop down to the bottom of the cliffs past Tranquil Falls into the Southern Coast. In the marker seen on the map above, you can find a Special Place, marked as a wooden post among the mud, above the “U” in “Southern” on the map, facing the waterfall.
All Ishikari Plain Special Places in Ghost of Yotei
4 – Hikari River
After venturing to the Ishikari Plain region during the hunt for The Oni, you’ll want to head towards the Shikari River, but on the map, when you’re between the Otaru Beach and Otaru Hills, you’ll notice the Special Place sign in the river path leading between the orange trees.
5 – Rumoi River
Head further north of the Ishikari Plain to the Rumoi River. You’ll want to run through to the nearby flower field and stand on the rock that overlooks the dead tree in the river, among the purple flowers, to find this Special Place.
All Tokachi Range Special Places in Ghost of Yotei
6 – Huranui’s Rest Inn
Continue north through Tokachi Range, where between the Ohara Plains and the Moiwa Grotto, you’ll find the Huraui’s Rest Inn by the river. Just a short walk north from Huranui’s Rest Inn, between the splitting river, you’ll find this Special Place on the shore.
7 – Amber Respite Shrine
In the northwest area of Tokachi Range, head to the furthest west part past Ubari Lake and Ohara Plain to find the Amber Respite Shrine entrance, noted by the white torii gate. Just before the waterfall on a rock platform is a Special Place that you can swim toward and approach.
All Nayoro Wilds Special Places in Ghost of Yotei
8 – Cukpet Hills
After speaking with Huci in the northern part of Tokachi Range, you can take a ferry across the Great Lake to reach the Nayoro Wilds to begin your hunt for The Kitsune. Once you arrive in the Nayoro Wilds, you’ll want to head to the furthest south location of the Cukpet Hills, where you’ll come across an abandoned camp with the Special Place signpost against an old tree, specifically below the “P” in “Cukpet” on the map.
All Teshio Ridge Special Places in Ghost of Yotei
9 – Sakuru Woods
Venture north through the snowy region of Nayoro Wilds to reach the Teshio Ridge region. Once you’re here, it’s time to head to the far east area of the Sakuru Woods. In the Sakuru Woods, head north from the “D” in “Woods” on the map until you’re near the cold lake. On a nearby rock overlooking the lake is the Special Post.
All Oshima Coast Special Places in Ghost of Yotei
10 – Seianji Temple
You can only access the Oshima Coast after The Oni and The Kitsune tales have been completed. After, you can take a ride with your allies to Oshima Coast to continue the story. Once here, you’ll need to venture to the southwest region, far west of the Orito Forest. You will want to follow the waterfalls and rivers of the Otsuki River northwest, where you’ll find the Seianji Temple up a large pair of stairs. At the temple, head left towards the waterfall to find the Special Place below it.
While you won’t gain any loot from the Special Places, completing all 10 will reward you with the Speaking with the Land trophy to help with your platinum run.
