Pokemon TCG Pocket has revealed some important news about the game’s Pack Points, confirming that players won’t need to worry about losing their older Pack Points. The massively popular mobile version of the beloved trading card game has been nothing less than a monumental success since its original debut nearly a year ago. Pokemon TCG Pocket saw instant traction from fans with millions of players hopping onto the game, releasing plenty of big exciting expansions. Now, The Pokemon Company is sharing some helpful details about the game’s Pack Point system.
Pack Points serve as a “pity” system for players to be able to pick up cards they couldn’t pull from the game’s different expansions. Pokemon TCG Pocket grants 5 Pack Points every time a player opens up a pack in Pokemon TCG Pocket, with the player able to redeem Pack Points for any card from the set provided they have enough. Pack Points are exclusive to the pack they come from, with each expansion having its own separate Pack Point count to use for cards from that specific set. A new update is now sharing a helpful failsafe for players collecting Pack Points.
Pokemon TCG Pocket shared a new notice through the game’s official social media accounts, giving a new reminder about the game’s Pack Points. The post confirmed that Pack Points earned from specific sets in Pokemon TCG Pocket will not expire after a pack leaves the in-game shop, with players able to still redeem their Pack Points for cards. The Pokemon Company also confirms that TCG Pocket‘s in-game tooltip regarding Pack Points is incorrect, with an update coming later to address the issue.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Shares Information About Pack Points
The news about Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s Pack Points comes as the mobile game debuted its newest expansion early last week. Deluxe Pack ex debuted as a set filled largely with reprints of older cards from previous sets, with many receiving new artworks or full art versions. Deluxe Pack ex’s heavy focus on reprints was joined by an important disclaimer regarding the reprint-heavy set, with cards pulled from Deluxe Pack ex not counting towards completion of the cards’ original sets. Deluxe Pack ex also featured smaller packs, with only four cards instead of the typical five.
Deluxe Pack ex’s litany of reprints serves to kick off the festivities for Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s upcoming 1st anniversary. TCG Pocket will officially celebrate one year since its release near the end of the month on October 30, with plenty of celebrations in-store for the mobile game. Pokemon TCG Pocket is set to offer multiple special limited-time events this month, including a “Parallel Foil” Mass Outbreak event and the “B1” expansion at the end of the month adding Mega Pokemon. Pokemon TCG Pocket fans should have lots to celebrate as the game moves into its second year.
