There are over 400 Digimon to find, collect, and train in Digimon Story: Time Stranger (woah, that’s a lot!). For someone who hasn’t played a Digimon game in ages (shout out to Digimon World Dusk/Dawn on the DS), I was not expecting there to be so many out there.
Anyway, if you check out the stats screen of your Digimon in Time Stranger, you might notice something called Talent. This isn’t normally a stat in RPGs of this caliber, so if you’re confused like I was, here’s a guide on everything you need to know about Talent in Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
What Does ‘Talent’ Mean in Digimon World: Time Stranger?
Fancy Word for Level Cap
On your Digimon’s profile, you will see its current level on the top right, sitting over its max level. The Talent level appears underneath the picture of the Digimon, and it turns out that these are essentially the same thing. Talent is the representation of a Digimon’s level limit and can increase through various methods.
Some of the Ways to Increase Talent in Digimon World: Time Stranger
Besides items that you can find in the overworld, such as the Talent Awakening Booster, the other ways to get your Digimon’s Talent/level cap increased is to fight in battles (try not to take damage), train at the farm (unlocks later in the story), hit the weak point of a Digimon, and finish off enemies.
The Talent Level of a Digimon will also increase once you Digivolve it. However, it’s worth noting that a Digimon’s level will not go down when you De-Digivolve.
