The First Descendant releases a massive new update, adding tons of new content and improvements to the game, including the first ever sword-style weapon. It’s been an event year already for Nexon’s The First Descendant, which has certainly seen its fair share of ups and downs over the past year.
The looter shooter has continued to evolve through seasons and updates, attempting to fix things based on player feedback while also adding impactful content to entice players to keep logging in. Season 3 of The First Descendant added its first crossover event with Nier Automata, with another set to kick off on November 6 with the Bayonetta franchise. However, Nexon isn’t stopping there as its latest patch adds a ton of new content for players to explore.
Update 1.3.6 for The First Descendant is absolutely huge, providing a ton of new stuff, quality of life adjustments, and continued bug fixes. For many players, the biggest piece of this update will be the addition of swords to all the existing weapons available in The First Descendant. Two swords are being added within this patch, Shadow and Deus Ex Manus, with the former being labeled as “balanced” and allowing the wielder to charge the blade for a unique dashing slash. Deus Ex Manus is considered a power weapon that empowers the user to reduce incoming damage while consuming the stacked bonus to deal added damage.
Alongside swords, this update also adds a new boss battle challenge to the existing First Descendant Void Intercept battles. Players can take on Abyss at the Lava Citadel, offering new mechanics from the boss and the stage. The new “medium-sized” facility called Void Vessel also offers a new location for players to visit and earn new blueprints for Shadow, Vespers Hunting Dog, and more. For those who want the Deus Ex Manus sword, they’ll need to farm on Hard difficulty.
Alongside the various buffs and rebalance of the character classes in The First Descendant, this patch also revealed new events, including the Halloween-inspired Albion Harvest Festival. From October 1 to November 5, players can exchange Attendance Mementos to earn various rewards. According to Nexon, the event also offers players Consumables, Customization Items, as well as Event SHop Tokens to spend. Naturally, there will also be new premium items available in the shop during this time as well.
