A recent leak from Fortnite is hinting at a considerably larger “Fortnitemares” event this year than the 2024 Halloween event, also teasing the potential start dates for the event. The massively popular battle royale has given fans plenty to be excited about throughout its ongoing Chapter 6 Season 4, with lots of major crossovers and events. Power Rangers served as the highlight for the most recent Fortnite season, adding skins based on the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers as well as an in-game Megazord. Now, an upcoming annual event looks to be jam-packed with content.
Fortnite‘s annual “Fortnitemares” event has typically served as one of the game’s most popular holiday festivities, celebrating the Halloween season. The annual event runs throughout each October, with the map typically being changed to feature Halloween festivities and bringing horror and Halloween-themed skins. 2024’s Fortnitemares brought a plethora of spooky new cosmetics to the game, including The Nightmare Before Christmas‘ Sally, Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘s Leatherface, and Edward Scissorhands among others. 2025’s Halloween event now looks to be one-upping its predecessor.
A new report by prominent Fortnite community member HYPEX is hinting at just how big this year’s Fortnitemares event will be. HYPEX teases a considerably larger event than 2024’s Fortnitemares coming this October, confirming “more content” will be available as part of this year’s event. Previous posts from other leakers have suggested that more than twenty new skins may be coming to Fortnite this October, compared to the 16 skins added last year. HYPEX also reveals the potential start dates for the event, stating that Fortnitemares will either begin on October 2 or October 9.
Fortnitemares 2025 Will Reportedly Be Bigger Than Last Year’s
The reveal about the scale of 2025’s Fortnitemares event comes as plenty of exciting skins for the event have been leaked. Fortnite will reportedly be adding a pair of horror icons to the game as new skins, with both Jason Voorhees and Ghostface said to be receiving outfits during the event. Scooby-Doo is also said to be a major part of this year’s Fortnitemares event, with the Mystery Inc. group reportedly receiving 4-5 new skins as part of the Halloween event. Fortnite has yet to officially confirm any of the rumored new skins coming as a part of 2025’s Fortnitemares.
Fortnitemares will look to close out Fortnite‘s Chapter 6 with a bang as one of the final major events for the current chapter. Fortnite‘s Chapter 6 Season 4 is currently expected to come to an end on November 1, with no official confirmation about what will follow Season 4’s conclusion. The conclusion of Chapter 5’s Season 4 last year saw Fortnite make a brief return to one of its older maps with Chapter 2 Remix in November, before Chapter 6 officially kicked off in December. Fortnite fans should have lots to look forward to from Fortnitemates as the game bids farewell to Chapter 6.
